Server Performance Since The Great Plugin Purge?

OK, so after the latest update, I've currently removed all the non-essential (read: non-admin-critical) plugins except hlstats, because the servers were hanging with 100% cpu usage.

Since I've done this, I still see 100% usage spikes but the server no longer hangs, and they've been up for about a day (whereas last night there were 4-5 crashes in a 2 hour period).

I'll soon begin to start restoring plugins (starting with admin stuff) to see if I can find the culprit.

What I'd like to know is: Has anyone noticed improved performance since the great plugin purge last night? If it's noteworthy, it means one or more plugins may be considered for removal if the performance hit is too great.

Quick update:
It seems the hangups are in part related to the TF2ModelManager plugin which lets supporters use robot skins.

One thing that I have noticed, not sure if this is a common thing or our plugins, but I have recently started playing MvM and every time it starts a new map the game starts instantly as soon as one person joins rather than waiting for people to select "Ready" status.

Well, playing on dustbowl earlier I would crash after about 5 minutes. And not really crash so much as TF2 would just abruptly close. Didn't happen on other communities servers though.

It's been doing that ever since we've set it up. I haven't been able to find a cause or fix. Perhaps I'm not using the right keywords, but I vaguely recall it being a bug with the game when I last looked into it.

Looking at the logs, I'm seeing the following:
Dropped Barbarossa "Five" 5 [GP] from server (Barbarossa "Five" 5 [GP] timed out)

STEAMAUTH: Client Barbarossa "Five" 5 [GP] received failure code 6

Dropped Barbarossa "Five" 5 [GP] from server (Client left game (Steam auth ticket has been canceled)

Without more info they both look like they are either client-side or network issues, but I can't tell for sure.
Robot skin plugins were disabled at that time, so that wasn't the cause.
Has this only started recently? (i.e. since Thursday's update?)

Actually, I think dustbowl would crash my game when the round ended and the map would rotate. It's only on our servers though, which is the odd part.

I don't know what would cause that, unless it's one of our plugins...

this is the worst kind of problem to find because not everyone has it (I occasionally segfaults on map change it but chalk it up to a horribly unoptimized client) and I don't even have an error to go on.
Do all our servers (or just dustbowl) do this? If all of them, the easy way to see if it's a plugin is to have you go into the Highlander server (it has bare minimum admin stuff) and see if that one does it too - if so, it's not something I can fix, but if it doesn't it likely means it's a plugin issue.

It's always been like that on every MvM I've played on.

All plugins except for robot skins have been restored. Skins will have to wait until I get a chance to sit at a computer with TF2 and actually determine the cause and find a solution. Sadly that probably won't be until the new year.

Thanks for bearing with me.
