[Background] Mummy's Mask 2: Empty Graves

Last night's sessions put each of your XP's at +2950. Giving you a total of 15,450, Bringing you to level 5. Since you're all at home at the last session you're free to level up.

woot.

Sooo... I think I finally know now:

-> 1 skill rank
-> half my hit die + strength HP
-> 1 ability point
-> 1 feat

woot.

Sooo... I think I finally know now:

-> 1 skill rank
-> half my hit die + strength HP
-> 1 ability point
-> 1 feat
ability points are once every 4 levels.
fighters get a feat at every level.
half HD + con mod+ 1 to HP.
skill points for fighters are 2+int mod per level
you also have a +1 you can add to either HP or skill points
and you have 3 class bonuses now, bravery, armor training 1, weapon training 1

figures. Just when I think I understand... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Those are your base save bonuses that just go up every level, similar to Base Attack Bonus. It does not take into account class features, ability mods, etc.

what hex said, its just your base save. you need to add other modifiers you get to it, such as bravery

lol, i knew this was here, but then i couldn't find it and decided i was just crazy.

and lemme repeat this over here:
When someone claims an item of loot, do we want to subtract its worth from gold that gets distributed, or just keep track of the amount? Or don't count it at all?

My carried items for reference:

Downtime between books 2&3-
You guys will finish off book 2 within 1-2 sessions, afterward I would like to take a week off IRL because book 3 will have a long setup time for me. If anyone wants to take a break and take more time off I'd be open to that as well, but I personally only need 1 week off.

During the in game downtime you'll have 1 week off to do as you please. You've missed a few missions (and quite a bit of loot) so I would like to give you guys the chance during the downtime to earn some of the missed loot back. If anyone has ranks in a Profession let me know, I can come up with some high paying jobs to do. You'll also have the option of running mini-missions, missions you guys missed that are still relevant but lower than your current level so you'd only need 1-2 people to complete them. There will also be a traveling carnival coming to Wati during the downtime and will be looking for fighters to participate in Gladiator style events for money and rewards. Healers will be on hand to prevent death. If special guests like English or Reechard want to, we can have them play the professional fighters that travel with the carnival, for you to face.

All of this downtime will be play by post on the forums here. Let me know what guys would like to do.

Did you ever post the accompanying story for the second book about the PFS guy who got mugged in a bar?

No I couldn't find it online. So I went ahead and exported the pages to a .xps file and uploaded them on 4shared (because mediafire was being a little bitch today). Journal 2 is called Sleeping with the Dead, btw don't google that, apparently instead of the journal entry you get an article about a morgue worker that "slept" with over 100 dead bodies. Also there is a note in the beginning of book 3 about how the journal entries are meant to be read before the adventure in each book begins. As they go out of their introduce new things you'll see in the next book. So I'll provide the link here for both journal entry 2 and 3, both from 4shared uploaded by me personally.

Journal 2 "Sleeping With The Dead"

Journal 3 "Trouble in Tephu"

Just a quick preview of things to come in book 3: Shifting Sands.

1. More RP, less killing (I am interested to see what you guys do with that)
2. Grumpy Camel Chariot Racing

Hope that wets your appetites

Future rule change:
After reviewing the use of grappling hooks I am not going to allow thrown grappling hooks to hook anything other than inanimate objects. There are grappling arrows/bolts for living people. The bolts themselves are 1gp with 30ft range increments, you must attach silk rope to it which is 10gp. You would have to unload/reload your crossbow to switch between bolt types, or just carry a second crossbow with one loaded. If you carry multiple grappling bolts and silk ropes you can shoot hand the rope to somebody, load another and keep shooting more grappling bolts and get multiple people pulling someone down. This will also give the person on the receiving end a choice of sundering the rope or grappling with you guys. As opposed to the GM conveniently ignoring that the NPC could just slip the thrown grappling hook off. Net rules will apply, meaning opposed str check's to pull the enemy around, and if you lose you can drop the rope to avoid being pulled around yourself. Lets face it most things that are flying have crap for Str anyway, Isal being the exception to that.

Edit: It's going to be your Str vs their Fly Check

You could also buy nets to throw, which entangle the target making it harder for them to do anything.

The good people on the Paizo forums also recommend Farside get to the Ace Trip feat which allows trip attempts against flyers with a ranged weapon in order to make them fall from the sky. There's also a ballista ammo that fires nets, If you want to lug around a ballista.

The good person of lumberjack suggest that the melee fighters could all take outflank at level 7 for that sweet sweet +4 flanking bonus
