Mass Effect Trilogy (thoughts And Reviews)

Had a small break from the game (halo 4 all day for 3 days). Back to it and fuck 2 discs. Maybe I'm oversimplifying this, but come on. What's so hard about making sure the stuff that you are capable of doing early on is on disc ONE and stuff that can't happen 2 hours into the game is on disc TWO? Gets frustrating switching them.

Quick google search gave me the answer of "no". Simply reduces load times.

So, of the little that I played before Halo beckoned me, Asari mission was awesome for my character. Samara kills herself for her daughter, then I decide I can't let her live either. lol. It felt fucked up to do. "Isn't losing my family enough?" Bam.

Killed Udina as well. That was a huge shock, seeing Cerberus attacking the Citadel. Did they have a death wish? Second I touched down, game over for them. I'm still so fucking curious as to what Cerberus is doing this game. grrr.

To be fair geoff Cerberus is doing what they've always been doing, remember the side mission questline in ME1? They said that was a rogue splinter but I really doubt that.

Actually, I never encountered Cerberus in the first game. When it comes to ME1, I rushed it. I did the main planets that I had to and very few sidequests. I wanted to get it out of the way to play ME2.

So, when I was allied with them in the second game, I didn't have a clue who they were. =P

Yea in ME1 they were conducting experiments on thorian creepers, rachni, and husks. They lured in and unleashed thresher maws on alliance troops, and if you chose the sole survivor background they were responsible for Akuze as well.

So, to put it simply, they are douchebags.

See, reading the wiki on what they did in ME1 and knowing they helped me in ME2 to stop the Collectors, I'm still at a loss as to why they would potentially let the entire galaxy die.

Remember the derelict reaper in ME2? What it did to the research team by simply being around them, Cerberus has been studying reaper tech for a long time, slowly the reapers agenda festers in the minds of these people in the same way it festered in Saren.

Wait until you do the priority: Horizon mission and do all the PDA and computer side to see what Cerebus was really up to. Should explain everything.

Just got done with the mission dealing with the geth. Not a hard choice at all picking Geth over Quarians. Never liked them. Kinda pissed I couldn't save them both, but watching Tali jump to her death made it worth the while. Hated her.

How to save both:
  • Shepard must have at least four bars of Reputation.
  • Tali and Legion must both be present, which requires an imported save from Mass Effect 2. If no save was imported, Tali will have been exiled and will not be able to support Shepard with an Admiral's authority, while Legion will not appear at all.
  • The mission Rannoch: Geth Fighter Squadrons must be completed.

Additionally, there are other factors which build up Shepard's trustworthiness to both parties; if Shepard has not done enough of them, the Commander will not have the groundswell of goodwill needed to moderate a cease-fire. According to the official Prima Games guide, each factor has a certain "point" value, and at least 5 "points" are necessary for the cease-fire to occur. These factors are:
  • (+2 points) Destroying the heretic geth in Legion: A House Divided. In shipboard conversation, you can ask Legion about the repercussions of your decision, and it will mention that the absence of the Heretics made the consensus to join the "Old Machines" more difficult to achieve. Geth forces are also considerably weakened without the aid of the Heretics, giving the Migrant Fleet an edge in the battle and reducing the quarians' overall casualties.
  • (+2 points) Preventing Tali's exile in Tali: Treason without presenting evidence of Admiral Rael'Zorah's experiments on the geth. While it's possible to present the evidence and still be able to broker peace, it adds its own problem in that it makes Tali far less likely to survive the attack on the Collector Base.
  • (+1 point) Brokering a peace in the Tali/Legion loyalty argument. If the player did not have sufficient Paragon/Renegade points at that time, loyalty of either Tali or Legion would have been lost. In that case -- even if loyalty had been regained later -- this "point" will not count towards the five needed to pass the Reputation check (and broker the ceasefire).
  • (+1 point) Completing Rannoch: Admiral Koris.
  • (+1 point) Saving Admiral Koris during Rannoch: Admiral Koris.

Shame you missed out on the moment at 1:52 was my favorite moment out of the entire series.

But more importantly in your game did you notice that Legion referred to himself as an "I" right before sacrificing himself? Joker and Edi mention it right after that mission if you talk to them about it, Edi notes that he had finally realized himself as an individual separate from the rest of the Geth right before he had to destroy himself to give them the same chance.

Oh, I know I was able to. After I finished the level, I checked the wiki. My reputation bars were too low I guess. But you know what? Fuck the Quarians. You don't listen to Shepard when he says "Stop the fucking attack", then you die like the dicks you are.

I'll try and save them both next time. But I still can't save Legion, that's the worst part. Yes, I did notice that Ariman. =D I was annoyed when people were correcting me, calling Legion "it". The dude has a male voice, he's a he damnit!

Next mission is going to the asari homeworld for some artifact. Curiously, how far am I? I feel like I've dealt with every major problem the universe has, I gotta be close to the end...

Just dealt with Kai Leng again. I love how cocky he is that he is "stronger". Bitch, you had a fucking airship attacking me when I popped your shields. You are weak in every way. I can only HOPE that I get to watch a Reaper kill him or something.

I'm honestly shocked that the catalyst isn't sacrificing. I figured it would be something like needing to kill off an entire planet or something. The Citadel though? Sure.

Also, killed Kai Leng. That was fun. Shattered his sword and then stabbed him. Woot.

I have finished it. Watching Garrus and Ashley die...was hard. Honestly, I'm pissed because I know I could have prevented it.

So, help me to understand this. Did the Illusive Man think he had to put Reaper tech into himself to control the Reapers? And then they turn around and just take control of him? Everything Cerberus has done is just to find out how to take control of Reapers?

Ended it by killing all Reapers. I came too far to simply control them. Everything dies. I'll be doing a full review on the trilogy later today.

I've read about it. The entire second and third game is about killing the Reapers. I'm not about to change that. At least not after watching my two favorite characters dying.

if I reboot the LP, I'll change this. I'll do everything I can to keep everyone alive and maybe take control of them.
