Blizzard's Hearthstone Game

you know francis usually parodies stuff but for the most part it is true. Was expecting real news from blizzard and we get this, a card game no one even plays, people only collect that shit to try and get the ingame mounts lol.

Yep. ^_^ That's why I love him. Personally I haven't looked at anything Blizzard related because most of their stuff now is dull. Friggen Pandas in WoW, I do love the SC universe, but I just had to read the wiki on the new game and no news on D3 expansion is a letdown.

And now a card game. Blizzard, why?

when bliz initially announced they had big news to announcement about a new 'IP' I thought omg they are going to talk about titan.. nope we get a crappy card game. d3 was kinda meh, ill give it to them mop was actually pretty good and they have come around with pushing content much faster for wow, every 3-4months a new raid tier instead of 1 year wait like cata/wotlk but i dont have the time anymore for it.

"Crappy card game". I don't think you can call it a crappy card game when you haven't even played it yet.

This is the company that pulled the Warcraft IP away from Fantasy Flight games, who made an EXCELLENT board game experience out of it, and gave it to Parker Brothers for yet another Monopoly reskin. The company who released 1/3 of the game and called it Starcraft II (you can buy the other 2/3 as they come out as $40 expansions to your $60 game). The company that scrapped Starcraft: Ghost. The company that put Pandas in WoW, the company who released Diablo III as a pay-to-win always-on-DRM moneybucket. This is the company that destroys excellent IP to fill their pocketbook.

This game WILL be horrible.

I find it odd people are taking issue with the Pandaren in WoW, a race that was introduced in Warcraft 3 and frankly should have been expected, but not the Worgen, something I have no recollection of being in Warcraft before WoW.

I never played more than 5 minutes of any Warcraft other than WoW. And even with WoW, I didn't play all that much. I got back into it a couple years ago (or something like that) when I was able to play as the werewolf race. It just seems odd to me that a game like WoW brought in...kung fu looking pandas. I just love looking at the OLD boxes of WoW

And then you get a Panda on the cover of the next one. Again, I don't know the entire universe of Warcraft, but after bringing in the Dragon I DID know and he was suppose to be epic...we get pandas.

There's already a WoW card game out there. It's meh. This is probably just going to be a crappy simulator of that game just like the Magic the Gathering Duels of the Planeswalkers games are for the real Magic the Gathering. Prebuilt decks with limited customization.

The Pandarens were an April Fools joke, and the fangirls went "GIVE US PANDAS IN WARCRAFT UGUuuuu".... and Blizzard caved. This doesn't speak well for them.

The Worgen didn't go over so well either, if you'll recall. The game really started going downhill at WotLK. BC was the last bastion of awesomeness before Blizzard stopped caring about their games and catered to casuals to fill their pockets.

I understand you need to make money, but if you're raking it in hand-over-fist, maybe just continuing to do what you're already doing should be good enough instead of destroying your connection with your original fans.

well I have a couple tcg decks and that was mostly to collect ingame mounts. The cards themselves are worthless unless it has a mount attached to it. no one plays the game. Believe me I tried to sell my extra ones off on ebay, no one buys or cares about it lol. They been trying to make their 'tcg wow cards' happen for the past 6 years, it isn't catching on.

wow needs more murlocs. playable murloc race? hell yea lol.. but frankly i never cared too much about the lore for wow, so pandas or worgens never really bothered or interested me too much aside from their racial stats and whether it benefited in a raid.

I can agree in some aspects they cater to the casual market with things like LFR, I mean when you make a game that 10million play, you need to have content for everyone. But at the sametime I don't think blizzard has let down gamers on content difficulty, I think it is harder than ever (aside from dragonsoul raid :p). I mean think about it from a business sense, they are putting in time and money toward content that only several thousand people in the world will ever get to experience. Heroic ragnaros, heroic lich king this is stuff that just a tiny fraction of a percent get to even attempt let alone kill prenerf, and all this has special stages that you never see in normal difficulty. Or take Diablo 3, only 2 people in the world killed d3 inferno on hardcore prenerf. When bliz releases a game or content I can expect it to be difficult off the bat, granted they might nerf stuff a bit too quickly sometimes but gotta give them props for spending dev time on making hard and unique content.
