If you were one of the good chaps who decided to back this fantastic looking game on kickstarter awhile back I have good news! You can now get your Steam key and get access to the Beta. If you are unfamiliar with what Castle Story is, or maybe you forgot because its been so damn long, here is a little video. To get the Beta you had to of backed the game during the kickstarter campaign.

To claim your key follow these not so simple instructions (its really the only way they can deliver it at the moment)

If you have already redeemed your key you can head on over to http://HumbleBundle.com/ and retrieve it.

If you have lost your humble bundle key you can use the key-resender here https://www.humblebundle.com/store/keyresender/ (this is what I had to do).

Having problems? Head on over here http://support.castlestory.net

Also for further news and information you can always head on over to their blog located here http://www.sauropodstudio.com/blog/ or visit the thriving community here http://www.CastleStoryOnline.com .

The game looks like its going to be a blast, and I look forward to playing it! Have Fun!

Got my email this morning. Sadly, since my psu can only keep my computer running for 1o minutes or so before crapping I probably will not get to try it out for at least a week or two.

I do not think you can purchase it right now...I briefly looked around and didnt see anything, but I did not look in steam.

Is this.... RTS Minecraft? Because that's ridiculous.

The game is challenging, and allows you to be creative at the same time. Fighting off hords of those rock guys. The physics in the game a fantastic as well. I am not sad at all for how long its taking these few guys making this game as they are doing an extremely good job on it, and paying attention to detail. They are also listening to community feedback.

Any idea if they intend on making this coop? It looks like it would be a great coop game.

It is supposed to be multiplayer, not sure of the depth of that functionality.

In this case, I'd probably be interested in playing with some of you VaultF4ers if/when this comes out. I don't have a key or anything right now.

Would love this in a co-op mode

just to say have fun with the amazingly weird controls that defy all "normal" controls you would use for any top down game :p unless they changed them since the prototype but god the controls stopped me from playing it more then a few minutes way back

well after checking it out again i must say the controls have finally changed to bad the ai of your little guys is still as random D':

I still struggle with the game controls. I really have not played it more than 5 minutes because it was so awkward just putting down storage areas for collecting things.

They should probably take a look at all top down games ever made, C&C series, Age of Empire Series, etc...they all use the same basic top down generally accepted way of controlling the guys, and putting down buildings.

well its a lot easier then it used to be :p

before it was click in the right side on the correct icon move your mouse over press and hold a certain key and press right or left mouse button(but dont let go if placing something hold and drag) and that was for the storage area

now its right click anywhere go to structures click on stockpile and click anywhere then make a few and use the wood from wood cutters to build the stockpiles(after you select 1 of your dudes and assign it to the stockpile icon hovering nearby the stockpiles)

the new way feels a lot easier especially after about 10-20 minutes and you roughly know what is where but for a early beta/prototype its still pretty decent
