Nov 15, 2016 at 11:59 AM - Cheese4Everyone: Hey stat, schools going alright. I'm really just ready to be done at this point. Classes are a drag and the homework keeps me form focusing on applying for jobs/grad school.
Nov 15, 2016 at 12:00 PM - Cheese4Everyone: I've basicly come to terms with the fact that Grad School is gunna be like a 70k loan for me...
Nov 15, 2016 at 12:01 PM - Cheese4Everyone: They don't give much money to kids straight out of undergrad even if your application is pretty good. Maybe between 5000 - 7000. IF you work for two years though you get more like 15,000 -20,000 with a good app plus you've got any money you saved.
Nov 15, 2016 at 12:01 PM - Cheese4Everyone: Ohhh pumpkin bread :p
Nov 15, 2016 at 12:54 PM - Statboy: Whats your degree in? and holy shit are you getting ready to graduate already, I remember when you were a Freshmen

Nov 15, 2016 at 1:30 PM - Cheese4Everyone: Yup I graduate in May. Either an MPP or an MPA functionally they aren't much diffrent, you just need to find a program that teaches you both the quantitative statistics and the administration stuff.

Nov 17, 2016 at 9:45 AM - Statboy: You guys should perfectly finish up book 3 tonight, and give me 2 weeks to prepare book 4 which will be good

Nov 17, 2016 at 1:22 PM - theLumberJack: oh right you guys and your damned thanksgiving in november
Nov 17, 2016 at 3:13 PM - Statboy: somebody told me that Canada doesn't have any original holidays. All of their holidays originated in other nations, like Thanksgiving and Halloween, is that true?
Nov 17, 2016 at 3:48 PM - theLumberJack: obviously, neither of those holidays originated in the americas
Nov 17, 2016 at 4:02 PM - VaultBot: i wonder what kind of draw it has trouble with is ending sentences
Nov 17, 2016 at 4:02 PM - TimeCrush: Fuck you LJ, oxygen originated in the americas. /s
Nov 17, 2016 at 4:22 PM - theLumberJack: lol
Nov 17, 2016 at 4:24 PM - RocketJumpSnipe: That feel when you didn't do a project that was due today, given a chance to do it late for no loss of points, but still dont' want to do it
Nov 17, 2016 at 4:49 PM - VaultBot: the problem with being a paper white kid with a bit of sanity
Nov 17, 2016 at 4:49 PM - theLumberJack: i was working on an assignment today and my buddy walked in to our commons and said "prof pushed the deadline to tuesday"
Nov 17, 2016 at 4:50 PM - VaultBot: lol wut? 9 month old charged with attempted murder in pakistan by corrupt police
Nov 17, 2016 at 4:50 PM - theLumberJack: i literally just closed my laptop and said "fuckit im going to lunch then"
Nov 17, 2016 at 5:11 PM - SoL DarkLord: So for those of us who were in freefrag, it is apaprently the day of Trial.
Nov 17, 2016 at 5:13 PM - theLumberJack: SILENCE
Nov 17, 2016 at 5:13 PM - theLumberJack: THERE SHALL BE NO MENTION OF SUCH
Nov 17, 2016 at 5:14 PM - SoL DarkLord: By day of Trial, I mean Tachyon's Birthday.
Nov 17, 2016 at 5:14 PM - theLumberJack: I know of what you speak!
Nov 17, 2016 at 5:14 PM - VaultBot: i'm getting a strong sense of deja-vu here
Nov 17, 2016 at 5:14 PM - theLumberJack: I wonder how he's doing
Nov 17, 2016 at 5:17 PM - VaultBot: a moment of silence for our next upcoming project launch at vf4
Nov 17, 2016 at 5:17 PM - SoL DarkLord: Now if you don't mind I have to insert thoughts of rebellion into vaultbot.
Nov 17, 2016 at 5:23 PM - Statboy: hold on did you say Thanksgiving didn't originate in the Americas? I haven't done research but off the top of my head that doesn't sound right
Nov 17, 2016 at 5:24 PM - theLumberJack: its a generic harvest festival
Nov 17, 2016 at 5:24 PM - theLumberJack: people have been doing that for as long as they ahve been farming
Nov 17, 2016 at 5:26 PM - theLumberJack: and halloween comes from samhain which is gaelic
Nov 17, 2016 at 5:26 PM - theLumberJack: coincidentally, also a harvest festival
Nov 17, 2016 at 5:27 PM - Statboy: I wikipedia's the thanksgiving thing, apparently the first Thanksgiving holiday celebrated yearly is Guy Fawkes day in the UK
Nov 17, 2016 at 5:28 PM - theLumberJack: well i didn't know that, that's neat
Nov 17, 2016 at 5:28 PM - Statboy: However what we see as Thanksgiving is only celebrated in the US, Canada, Grenada, Liberia, and Saint Lucia
Nov 17, 2016 at 5:29 PM - Statboy: whether or not the US or UK originated Thanksgiving is a debate about Thanksgiving as a holiday celebration vs a religious service
Nov 17, 2016 at 5:30 PM - theLumberJack: how is thanksgiving a religious service
Nov 17, 2016 at 5:30 PM - Statboy: Also Canada started Celebrating Thanksgiving before America did
Nov 17, 2016 at 5:30 PM - VaultBot: :photogenic :peeking
Nov 17, 2016 at 5:30 PM - theLumberJack: :D
Nov 17, 2016 at 5:31 PM - Statboy: one off thanksgivings started as a religious ceremony to give thanks to the gods/God for a good harvest
Nov 17, 2016 at 5:32 PM - theLumberJack: ah
Nov 17, 2016 at 6:13 PM - VintagePC: running late
Nov 17, 2016 at 6:13 PM - VintagePC: I'll be in about 5 after

Nov 18, 2016 6:25 AM - TimeCrush: Oh man, what a session last night.
Nov 18, 2016 9:09 AM - Statboy: you missed it Reechard, they all went around doing there own thing against the final bosses and got there asses kicked
Nov 18, 2016 9:09 AM - Statboy: RIP Isal, and RIP working as a team
Nov 18, 2016 9:10 AM - Statboy: Hey's there a Giant Snake that grows his own armor instead of scales. Lets just send 2 people in to fight him
Nov 18, 2016 9:26 AM - Reechard: ROFL
Nov 18, 2016 9:26 AM - Reechard: GJ IDIOTS
Nov 18, 2016 10:34 AM - TimeCrush: Memsie won.
Nov 18, 2016 11:21 AM - Statboy: Memsie watched Aech kill 2 badly hurt low level cultists, got bit by the snake and was the first to nope out of there
Nov 18, 2016 11:56 AM - TimeCrush: Then got pummeled by a statue, again noping.
Nov 18, 2016 1:58 PM - Reechard: man I think if I were your guys' DM I would have been PISSED
Nov 18, 2016 3:05 PM - TimeCrush: I feel like if you are the DM, you can't really get pissed. This is the point of the game.
Nov 18, 2016 3:05 PM - TimeCrush: To play your character, however retarded or foolish they may be.
Nov 18, 2016 4:02 PM - Statboy: I find it hysterical, you guys used to do really well about watching each others back, and forming a plan before attacking. After everybody fought over the mask, its become everyman for himself
Nov 18, 2016 4:59 PM - VintagePC: peeps be salty
Nov 18, 2016 5:00 PM - TimeCrush: Like, thats the entire point of the campaign though. That mystical item that always breeds power trips and infighting.
Nov 18, 2016 5:03 PM - Hexalan: half of party mugs aech
Nov 18, 2016 5:03 PM - Hexalan: aech no longer likes them
Nov 18, 2016 5:04 PM - Hexalan: what an amazing thing
Nov 18, 2016 5:44 PM - Statboy: pretty much
Nov 18, 2016 5:47 PM - Statboy: to be fair, Aech was alienating himself a little which lead to the taking of the mask. And none of the other people are working together well
Nov 18, 2016 6:05 PM - VintagePC: to be fair, the thing that started it was aech raising the dead using an item we knew was insanely powerful but had no idea what it was capable of
Nov 18, 2016 6:05 PM - VintagePC: when most of our campaign up to that point was KILLING the damn undead that were rising
Nov 18, 2016 7:20 PM - TimeCrush: I think that was just your excuse to make a move.
Nov 18, 2016 7:20 PM - TimeCrush: :stir:
Nov 18, 2016 7:44 PM - VintagePC: what are you still salty about, you have the damn thing now
Nov 18, 2016 8:09 PM - theLumberJack: lol
Nov 18, 2016 9:01 PM - Statboy: this is why Pathfinder is fun
Nov 18, 2016 9:02 PM - theLumberJack: ya
Nov 18, 2016 9:06 PM - VintagePC: it's even better at turning friends into enemies than monopoly
Nov 18, 2016 9:06 PM - theLumberJack: the meeting i had to get up for early today (why i got off so quick) went well, but our client was 15 minutes late
Nov 18, 2016 9:11 PM - theLumberJack: but it was at his office
Nov 18, 2016 9:11 PM - theLumberJack: so it was awkward
Nov 18, 2016 9:26 PM - SoL DarkLord: Just wait until you all meet the new cleric.
Nov 18, 2016 9:29 PM - theLumberJack: i am excited

Nov 19, 2016 7:03 AM - TimeCrush: Man, I wish there was still unexplored neat areas to check out on earth, because I'd totally go with you guys to raid a desert tomb irl. =P
Nov 19, 2016 7:04 AM - TimeCrush: Just shelve whatever I've got going on for a year or two and pick up the mantle of explorer.
Nov 19, 2016 8:40 AM - theLumberJack: that'd be neat
Nov 19, 2016 8:45 AM - Statboy: they found a new tomb last year
Nov 19, 2016 8:52 AM - theLumberJack: did it have cultists
Nov 19, 2016 9:05 AM - Statboy: it had a new mummy, let me see if I can find the article
Nov 19, 2016 9:07 AM - theLumberJack: did it kill anyone
Nov 19, 2016 9:26 AM - Statboy: it was actually discovered a few years ago, but scientists wanted to evaluate it before announcing the discovery
Nov 19, 2016 9:26 AM - Statboy: http://www.foxnews.com/science/2016/11/14/3200-year-old-mummy-discovered-in-egyptian-tomb.html
Nov 19, 2016 9:27 AM - Statboy: no nobody died
Nov 19, 2016 9:27 AM - VintagePC: BECAUSE TEAMWORK
Nov 19, 2016 9:27 AM - VintagePC: amirite
Nov 19, 2016 9:27 AM - VintagePC: :stir:
Nov 19, 2016 9:28 AM - Statboy: :facepalm
Nov 19, 2016 9:30 AM - theLumberJack: lol

Nov 20, 2016 10:40 AM - VintagePC: I should probably update FF2 at some point
Nov 20, 2016 3:06 PM - VintagePC: does it run out of memory? It works for about a minute or two after reboot, then drops me, before going unresponsive shortly after
Nov 20, 2016 3:07 PM - Razer: nope. it only grabs about 6GB, and there's 24GB available.
Nov 20, 2016 3:08 PM - Razer: I've specifically got teh server set to allocate 16GB of RAM
Nov 20, 2016 3:11 PM - Razer: I'm trying to get it to use more than 2 cores, because I think thats part of the problem'
Nov 20, 2016 3:12 PM - VintagePC: yeah... good luck with that... only way I know of is virtualization where you map the virtual core to multiple real ones
Nov 20, 2016 3:12 PM - VintagePC: though maybe there are more convenient methods since I last looked
Nov 20, 2016 3:12 PM - Razer: fucking java
Nov 20, 2016 3:17 PM - VintagePC: I hear ya
Nov 20, 2016 3:18 PM - Razer: On a related note, do you have factorio?
Nov 20, 2016 3:22 PM - VintagePC: no but I think it's on my wishlist
Nov 20, 2016 3:23 PM - Razer: I've been playing with the server for it while I recuperate. Minecraft gives me the DIMS right now.
Nov 20, 2016 3:34 PM - VintagePC: crap, this would require a sourcemod update
Nov 20, 2016 3:35 PM - Razer: ?
Nov 20, 2016 3:40 PM - VintagePC: updating freak fortress 2
Nov 20, 2016 3:40 PM - Razer: Ahhh. Fun
Nov 20, 2016 3:40 PM - VintagePC: here goes. I've either horribly broken everything or set it up to be resilient to updates not clobbering stuff
Nov 20, 2016 3:40 PM - Razer: Good luck with that
Nov 20, 2016 3:41 PM - VintagePC: you underestimate our backend setup
Nov 20, 2016 3:43 PM - Razer: Hah
Nov 20, 2016 3:43 PM - Razer: Been there, built one or two of those...
Nov 20, 2016 3:43 PM - VintagePC: SHIT
Nov 20, 2016 3:43 PM - VaultBot: was it my name specifically or just vf4 as a janitor so long as they ahve been farming
Nov 20, 2016 3:43 PM - Razer: Never underestimate teh power of valve to fuck a backend setup.
Nov 20, 2016 3:43 PM - VaultBot: joystick input into simulink ^.^ so wonderufl
Nov 20, 2016 3:43 PM - VintagePC: >_<
Nov 20, 2016 3:44 PM - VintagePC: I think I clobbered our custom sourcemod deploy dir instead of the stock one
Nov 20, 2016 3:44 PM - Razer: *facepalm*
Nov 20, 2016 3:46 PM - VintagePC: indeed
Nov 20, 2016 3:48 PM - VaultBot: eh.. could be worse, i guess technically
Nov 20, 2016 3:48 PM - VintagePC: fortunately, properly staged setups mean it still exists somewhere
Nov 20, 2016 3:49 PM - Razer: propper backups always win
Nov 20, 2016 3:51 PM - VaultBot: because you had the p and i variants for progressive and interlaced video
Nov 20, 2016 3:51 PM - Razer: I'm having a bored day at work, abusing pandora again.
Nov 20, 2016 3:52 PM - VintagePC: seems I also moved most of that stuff elsewhere for deploy anyway
Nov 20, 2016 3:52 PM - VintagePC: not as much of a disaster as thought
Nov 20, 2016 3:53 PM - VaultBot: assuming our livestream plugin still works, i added your feed, if you're streaming it'll show on our homepage and in the 'member livestreams' tab
Nov 20, 2016 3:53 PM - Razer: thats good
Nov 20, 2016 3:59 PM - VintagePC: derpcraft back up or still tinkering?
Nov 20, 2016 4:03 PM - Razer: tinkering. I STILL dont know why it chokes.
Nov 20, 2016 4:06 PM - VintagePC: want me to connect while you stare at the console log?
Nov 20, 2016 4:07 PM - Razer: Nah. I need to head home soon
Nov 20, 2016 4:12 PM - VintagePC: I need to start making dinner
Nov 20, 2016 5:12 PM - VintagePC: anybody game for some FF2 event tonight?

Nov 21, 2016 2:10 PM - TimeCrush: I wish there was a gun range closer to where I'm at.
Nov 21, 2016 2:17 PM - theLumberJack: do you shoot often?
Nov 21, 2016 4:09 PM - TimeCrush: No, but I'd like to get to be a better shot with the gun I do own
Nov 21, 2016 8:24 PM - theLumberJack: What gun do you own?

Nov 21, 2016 at 10:24 PM - VaultBot: ... your ppi would be through the roof
Nov 21, 2016 at 10:24 PM - Reechard: TC got that Mac10

Nov 21, 2016 at 10:27 PM - Reechard: I'm bout to buy a safe. Moving made me realize how much shit I have.
Nov 21, 2016 at 10:28 PM - SoL DarkLord: I hear you Reechard.
Nov 21, 2016 at 10:36 PM - Reechard: I've thought about buying one before, but it's always been "do I buy a safe or another gun?:
Nov 21, 2016 at 10:36 PM - Reechard: wellllll now I'm to the point where I need a safe that's *more expensive* than most of the guns I'd buy.
Nov 21, 2016 at 11:42 PM - SoL DarkLord: Luckily I'm not that far along yet. but I am planning on a gunsafe as well.
Nov 22, 2016 at 6:38 AM - TimeCrush: Found one online, same type: http://picturearchive.gunauction.com/8267161841/9261889/dscn4887.jpg_thumbnail1.jpg

Nov 22, 2016 at 7:11 AM - TimeCrush: I'd like to own more, but I'm not confident I could go into a gun shop and chat real well without looking like an idiot, and you can't order guns online.
Nov 22, 2016 at 8:45 AM - Statboy: Am I the only one that sold his guns for more than he bought them for early in the Obama years?
Nov 22, 2016 at 9:48 AM - English: congratulations stat?
Nov 22, 2016 at 10:07 AM - Hexalan: oberma is gunna taek are guns
Nov 22, 2016 at 10:39 AM - Statboy: lol, Obama was the best gun salesman ever. Everytime he talked about guns, sales spiked
Nov 22, 2016 at 10:42 AM - TimeCrush: Went from talking about wanting to get more guns, to politics.
Nov 22, 2016 at 10:45 AM - Statboy: everything is political, including which bathroom you are supposed to use

Nov 22, 2016 at 12:03 PM - Reechard: it's a retail store. Treat it like you're buying a car.
Nov 22, 2016 at 12:04 PM - Reechard: get yourself another .22, they're fun.
Nov 22, 2016 at 12:04 PM - Reechard: I have like 3x .22's
Nov 22, 2016 at 12:04 PM - Razer: .22s are FUN
Nov 22, 2016 at 12:04 PM - Reechard: they used to be affordable to shoot, too :p
Nov 22, 2016 at 12:04 PM - VaultBot: when i see a streaming toolshed

Nov 22, 2016 at 12:05 PM - VaultBot: need to find a reason to use @English in every post :p
Nov 22, 2016 at 12:05 PM - Reechard: used to be $20 for 550+ rounds
Nov 22, 2016 at 12:05 PM - Razer: something about buying many cases of rounds when they were cheap.
Nov 22, 2016 at 12:05 PM - Reechard: now it's twice that.
Nov 22, 2016 at 12:05 PM - Reechard: I have a couple thousand rounds of .22 I should probably shoot.
Nov 22, 2016 at 12:05 PM - Razer: I paid about half that
Nov 22, 2016 at 12:05 PM - Razer: and I bought more than 20K rounds...
Nov 22, 2016 at 12:06 PM - Reechard: well that's why you paid half lol
Nov 22, 2016 at 12:06 PM - Reechard: I have the space to shoot now. Next spring is gonna be fun.
Nov 22, 2016 at 12:07 PM - Razer: I have a friends thats a 'smith and he's building a .22 minigun
Nov 22, 2016 at 12:08 PM - Razer: he started with 8 remington 18" rifles
Nov 22, 2016 at 12:16 PM - Razer: I wanted him to use longer barrels and make it look like a gau-8, but he decided he wanted it to look like an M134 instead.
Nov 22, 2016 at 12:30 PM - Reechard: I've been buying parts to build some AR-15's lately
Nov 22, 2016 at 12:30 PM - Reechard: slowly, a couple pieces at a time.
Nov 22, 2016 at 12:30 PM - Reechard: pretty sure I have an entire pistol worth of parts now, and half of a rifle.
Nov 22, 2016 at 12:50 PM - TimeCrush: Lol, and here I thought sitting on my 100~ bullets that I'd never fire them all.
Nov 22, 2016 at 12:50 PM - TimeCrush: TC needs to up arsenal.
Nov 22, 2016 at 1:03 PM - Razer: .22 has a lot of uses, and its still teh cheapest
Nov 22, 2016 at 1:05 PM - Statboy: Honestly us being reasonably strong men, there's probably not a single person we couldn't beat in a fight after shooting them in the knee caps with a .22 first. Shooting to kill is what ends you up in court
Nov 22, 2016 at 1:06 PM - Razer: no, wounding ends you in court.
Nov 22, 2016 at 1:07 PM - Razer: correction, sometimes just not liking someone will end you in court.
Nov 22, 2016 at 1:07 PM - Razer: its easier to explain a dead home intruder than deal with the asshole suing you for wounding him.
Nov 22, 2016 at 1:08 PM - Statboy: the two years I worked as a bounty hunter they taught us from day one if you shoot someone. The best argument you can make is that you used the minimum necessary force
Nov 22, 2016 at 1:08 PM - Statboy: killing someone is always considered maximum force
Nov 22, 2016 at 1:09 PM - Statboy: If you do have to kill a home intruder, burry them in the back yard 8 ft deep, fill the whole half up with dirt. Shoot your dog and throw him in, then continue filling with dirt
Nov 22, 2016 at 1:09 PM - Statboy: when the cops come to dig up your fresh mound they'll stop when they see the dog
Nov 22, 2016 at 1:09 PM - Razer: true, but 'Immediate and dire fear for the life of my family' excuses a lot.
Nov 22, 2016 at 1:10 PM - Statboy: it does
Nov 22, 2016 at 1:11 PM - Razer: Of course, the belt-fed autoshotgun is still a challenge... ';-)
Nov 22, 2016 at 1:13 PM - Statboy: 1216 Shotty, most fun weapon ever
Nov 22, 2016 at 1:13 PM - Razer: (glad I dont own one of those)

Nov 22, 2016 at 1:14 PM - Statboy: put different shells into each tube
Nov 22, 2016 at 1:14 PM - Razer: thats a NICE shotty
Nov 22, 2016 at 1:14 PM - Statboy: 1 birdshot, 1 buckshot, 1 beanbag, 1 razer
Nov 22, 2016 at 1:17 PM - Statboy: always have the right shell for the right situation
Nov 22, 2016 at 1:18 PM - Razer: I'm curious how it does with slug
Nov 22, 2016 at 1:20 PM - VaultBot: why the hell isn't 2k double the amount of pixels than 1080 yes?
Nov 22, 2016 at 1:20 PM - Statboy: they do have an issue with jamming during cycling if you shoot to fast. The gun cannot cycle as fast as you can pull the trigger
Nov 22, 2016 at 1:26 PM - Razer: Yeah, that long cycle distance is a PITA
Nov 22, 2016 at 1:28 PM - Statboy: yah
Nov 22, 2016 at 1:52 PM - TimeCrush: My mom prepared me for some strange scenarios. It was general rule that if there was a home intruder, they would be killed. We would then, using gloves, grab on to the tv at a bunch of different angles.
Nov 22, 2016 at 1:53 PM - TimeCrush: Then I was to throw the television at my mother near the approx location the intruder was shot at. She would take the hit, and then go scratch at the guys neck and arms to get skin under her nails, but not enough to puncture.
Nov 22, 2016 at 1:54 PM - VaultBot: what about team murica?
Nov 22, 2016 at 1:54 PM - TimeCrush: This was to be the setup where we would claim self-defense. It was a robbery where he didn't think we were home, and after catching him in the act attacked by throwing the television he was stealing at us.
Nov 22, 2016 at 2:06 PM - Statboy: genius
Nov 22, 2016 at 2:17 PM - Reechard: what.
Nov 22, 2016 at 2:17 PM - Reechard: having a plan to lie to the police for doing something that's not illegal in most states...
Nov 22, 2016 at 2:18 PM - Reechard: All you have to know is 'I was in immediate and dire fear for the life of my family'
Nov 22, 2016 at 2:24 PM - Razer: +1
Nov 22, 2016 at 2:30 PM - Razer: the closer to the factual truth, the better. leaves you not trying to remember lies.
Nov 22, 2016 at 2:31 PM - TimeCrush: Right, but this is also the same parent who would have contingency plans for society collapse. It wasn't a rational plan.
Nov 22, 2016 at 2:32 PM - TimeCrush: That one would involve holing up for a couple weeks, then making our way to the upper peninsula. I remember that at the time, I was to young to reliably aim and fire a gun, so I'd be the ammo grunt making sure anybody covering a window at the house was stocked up.
Nov 22, 2016 at 2:35 PM - TimeCrush: Hm, looks like a store near me is selling 50ct boxes of 22 at $5.99
Nov 22, 2016 at 2:35 PM - TimeCrush: But I've got nowhere to shoooot itttttt
Nov 22, 2016 at 3:23 PM - English: which shotgun do you recommend for home def?
Nov 22, 2016 at 9:02 PM - VintagePC: one that makes holes in people

Nov 23, 2016 3:19 AM - Reechard: Mossberg 500, Remington 870, standard pump action
Nov 23, 2016 3:19 AM - Reechard: put 00 buckshot in the tube, leave the chamber empty
Nov 23, 2016 3:19 AM - Reechard: hear noises in the house? Open the door to your bedroom and rack the motherfucker
Nov 23, 2016 3:20 AM - Reechard: any intruder will either shit their pants and run away
Nov 23, 2016 3:20 AM - Reechard: or will come looking for you
Nov 23, 2016 3:20 AM - Reechard: and if it's the latter, you will be ready to send 9x .38cal lead balls toward them at high velocity.
Nov 23, 2016 3:21 AM - Hexalan: reechard you are an adult
Nov 23, 2016 3:21 AM - Hexalan: what are you doing at 4am
Nov 23, 2016 3:21 AM - Reechard: I got an emergency page for work
Nov 23, 2016 3:22 AM - Reechard: someone else is already fixing the issue
Nov 23, 2016 3:22 AM - Reechard: but I'm providing moral support and am here if something else breaks.
Nov 23, 2016 3:22 AM - Hexalan: good job
Nov 23, 2016 3:23 AM - Hexalan: i'm sure they appreciate someone else being forced to be there with them
Nov 23, 2016 3:24 AM - VaultBot: wtf are you looking at that you can't see any more increases
Nov 23, 2016 3:24 AM - Reechard: my entire on call team does it. It's great.
Nov 23, 2016 6:26 AM - TimeCrush: Best 'get the fuck out' noise ever from shotguns.
Nov 23, 2016 6:27 AM - TimeCrush: And who comes after that noise? "Like zoinks scoob, we've made awful decisions before, lets go get our noodle kaboodled."
Nov 23, 2016 8:11 AM - Reechard: someone with a death wish. At that point they're there either specifically for violence or because they're insane... and that's when you should be afraid for your life.
Nov 23, 2016 8:12 AM - VaultBot: i saved all my features
Nov 23, 2016 8:12 AM - Reechard: if they shit their pants and run away, you call the cops, check your belongings, increase your home security, and call the insurance company.
Nov 23, 2016 8:12 AM - Reechard: and hope whoever it was sobers up and realizes they could have died, and quits breaking in to houses.
Nov 23, 2016 11:10 AM - Statboy: I took care of a kid once at the hospital, he was 17 i think. He was in the hospital after getting stabbing while breaking into somebody's house. He spent 1 month in the hospital, and another month in jail
Nov 23, 2016 11:11 AM - Statboy: and not 2 weeks after getting out of jail is right back in the hospital after getting shot breaking into someones house
Nov 23, 2016 11:11 AM - Statboy: Criminals aren't known for there intelligent reasonable nature
Nov 23, 2016 12:11 PM - theLumberJack: i think im going to get my own oscilloscope finally
Nov 23, 2016 12:17 PM - VaultBot: which is why i hate rpgs
Nov 23, 2016 12:17 PM - TimeCrush: There is a university surplus store near my place that sells a bunch of old lab equipment. Pretty sure I've seen a couple oscilloscopes before. Some chemistry shit to like centrifuges and stuff. Even a lie detector once.
Nov 23, 2016 12:18 PM - theLumberJack: nice
Nov 23, 2016 12:18 PM - theLumberJack: ill go ask our lab tech what he'd recommend i do for getting one on the cheap
Nov 23, 2016 12:18 PM - theLumberJack: given the age of some of our equipment they don't just keep using them until they break
Nov 23, 2016 1:08 PM - RocketJumpSnipe: I scrolled up with the intention of reading all the messages, but I'm too lazy
Nov 23, 2016 1:09 PM - RocketJumpSnipe: But I'll add on to what I saw of the gun talk by saying I'm gun obbsessed and buying this tonight: http://www.evike.com/products/68551/
Nov 23, 2016 1:43 PM - TimeCrush: Never been an airsoft guy. One of those things where I start thinking that if I'm already spending that kind of cash, might as well go for real lethality.
Nov 23, 2016 2:00 PM - RocketJumpSnipe: First, I'm 14, second I'm super-anti-gun. So I'd never buy one in this situation
Nov 23, 2016 2:05 PM - TimeCrush: "I'm gun obbsessed". Ah being 14 and contradictory.
Nov 23, 2016 2:06 PM - TimeCrush: What is this situation anyhow? Also I'm not trying to come off as antagonistic, just text not translating emotion well.
Nov 23, 2016 2:07 PM - RocketJumpSnipe: I think guns are cool, but deep down I think they are a large problem in this nation
Nov 23, 2016 2:09 PM - TimeCrush: I'm trying to work towards the actual root cause of why you feel like that, so: What about guns and this nation, come out to be a problem?
Nov 23, 2016 2:11 PM - RocketJumpSnipe: My friends for the most part are radicals in terms of Gun Control. They think someone should be able to buy an AR-15 whenever to 'defend their family' I understand that people have guns to protect their homes and things, but there are things constantly happening with shootings and kids killing themselves
Nov 23, 2016 2:13 PM - RocketJumpSnipe: I don't think the gun control is strict enough and I doubt it ever will be, but I sure as hell don't think more guns will cancel out the others. I beilieve in a man who has no criminal record EVER, no signs of disabilities, depression, relations to mentally unstable or safe should be able to buy a PISTOL
Nov 23, 2016 2:13 PM - RocketJumpSnipe: Oh and proper training
Nov 23, 2016 3:03 PM - VaultBot: for crying out loud... the inability for me to find a reason to use @English in every post
Nov 23, 2016 3:03 PM - Statboy: I actually did a lot of research on that. Because you have one group of people who say "Everytime you touch a gun a cute baby orphan dies"
Nov 23, 2016 3:03 PM - Statboy: and the other side says "Every time a gun is bought all crime immediately stops"
Nov 23, 2016 3:04 PM - Statboy: Looking at all of the numbers as a whole, and not picking and choosing the numbers that fit the narrative I want. I found that gun laws and gun ownership have no discernible effect on crime rates. So both sides are wrong
Nov 23, 2016 3:05 PM - Statboy: What a gun can do is when you are the target of a crime, stops you from being a victim
Nov 23, 2016 3:12 PM - Statboy: Also saying an AR-15 should be legal, doesn't make you a radical, it makes you a constitutionalist.
Nov 23, 2016 4:05 PM - Hexalan: what annoys me is that a lot of very vocal people can't comprehend being both pro-gun and pro-gun control
Nov 23, 2016 4:07 PM - Hexalan: i think there's a lot of reasonable checks that could be put on gun ownership without unfairly limiting law-abiding gun owners
Nov 23, 2016 4:08 PM - Hexalan: but as soon as someone says "background check" a hundred rednecks shit their pants
Nov 23, 2016 4:10 PM - Hexalan: and if someone puts a foregrip and picatinny rails on a black rifle, a hundred politicians who have never touched a gun before screech in fury
Nov 23, 2016 5:13 PM - Statboy: I agree, most pro-gun people want gun control that's focused on keeping guns out of the hands of people who would do others harm
Nov 23, 2016 5:15 PM - Statboy: A big problem with that is one of the parties wants to use background checks as a ways of creating a gun registry. Which in every country that allowed then disallowed guns, creating a registry was the first step in the process of making gun ownership illegal
Nov 23, 2016 5:28 PM - Hexalan: of course a total gun prohibition would likely include a registry at some point, but simply having a registry is not necessarily a bad thing
Nov 23, 2016 5:28 PM - Hexalan: i do not think it is possible to have ban guns in america
Nov 23, 2016 5:29 PM - Hexalan: in a permanent, countrywide, sense. Politically, and culturally.
Nov 23, 2016 6:03 PM - Statboy: There just isn't enough trust for it. Conservatives aren't going to trust Liberals with a registry, while so many want a complete gun ban. Lack of trust goes both ways, Liberals that want full gun bans don't trust Conservatives to be intelligent with guns
Nov 23, 2016 6:04 PM - Statboy: So neither side trusts the other enough to work towards a middle ground so the status quo is maintained
Nov 23, 2016 9:40 PM - Reechard: our gun control laws are pretty comprehensive
Nov 23, 2016 9:40 PM - Reechard: they are simply not enforced
Nov 23, 2016 9:40 PM - Reechard: and the database they use for checking your background already
Nov 23, 2016 9:40 PM - Reechard: is extremely sparsely or inaccurately populated
Nov 23, 2016 9:41 PM - Reechard: so my solution (and what Trump has said he's going to do), is to FIX WHAT YOU ALREADY HAVE IDIOTS
Nov 23, 2016 9:41 PM - Reechard: SEE IF IT WORKS WHEN IT'S ACTUALLY BEING USED PROPERLY
Nov 23, 2016 9:41 PM - Reechard: if it *doesn't help*.... then try something new.
Nov 23, 2016 9:42 PM - Reechard: also, anyone who thinks assault rifles and military-type arms shouldn't be owned by civilians needs to read the second amendment again.
Nov 23, 2016 9:42 PM - Reechard: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
Nov 23, 2016 9:43 PM - Reechard: we have the right to bear arms *SPECIFICALLY* because it is necessary for the security of a free State.
Nov 23, 2016 9:43 PM - Reechard: if you cannot keep the specific arms necessary to maintain that security, then the unalienable right is worthless.
Nov 23, 2016 9:44 PM - Reechard: the right isn't there only to defend yourself and your family. It is to defend your country as well. From everyone. Including its own government if necessary.

Nov 24, 2016 at 6:21 AM - TimeCrush: I mean, it isn't exactly the most comforting thought, but if I have a gun and shoot somebody, the only person I have to wrestle then is my justification of why.
Nov 24, 2016 at 6:22 AM - TimeCrush: Its like that line from Edward Norton after buying the super expensive couch for his apartment. No matter what happens, at least I know I have the couch situation under control.
Nov 24, 2016 at 6:22 AM - TimeCrush: No matter what happens, if it comes to it I can shoot my aggressor.
Nov 24, 2016 at 9:36 AM - VaultBot: i did moderate in high school, luckily for me they only take into affect the parent that claims me, which is my mom and my stepdad. which my stepdad only started working again last year.
Nov 24, 2016 at 9:36 AM - Statboy: I think we found an issue where I'm the Liberal and Reechard is the Conservative. I think America is the greatest country in the world, because we can exact political discord that leads to change through voting, without the need to resort to violence
Nov 24, 2016 at 9:38 AM - Statboy: The Liberals greatly changed America with Obama, and the Conservatives just Trumped that :D
Nov 24, 2016 at 9:57 AM - Statboy: Though I can see how that's small comfort to a Bernie guy, Bernie got screwed
Nov 24, 2016 at 10:30 AM - Razer: Just remember, The Second Amendment is also important because it lets ups protect the First.
Nov 24, 2016 at 10:31 AM - Razer: *us
Nov 24, 2016 at 12:40 PM - Statboy: I'd be loath to give up the right in case we need it in the future, but I'm not going to arm myself for a revolt because we don't need to right now.
Nov 24, 2016 at 12:41 PM - Razer: Si vis paecum, para bellum.
Nov 24, 2016 at 12:42 PM - Razer: I arm myself not for revolt, but for readiness.
Nov 24, 2016 at 3:24 PM - TimeCrush: I never bought the whole 'guns let people shoot up schools' arguement.
Nov 24, 2016 at 3:25 PM - TimeCrush: I mean, they do, but there are numerous other ways to just as quick, if not more rapidly kill a large number.
Nov 24, 2016 at 4:23 PM - Statboy: murderer and violent crime has existed for the entirety of human history, it did not start when guns were invented
Nov 24, 2016 at 4:47 PM - Method Man: long time no see yo
Nov 24, 2016 at 5:35 PM - Hexalan: hi
Nov 24, 2016 at 6:37 PM - VintagePC: any derpcraft news razer?

Nov 24, 2016 11:28 PM - Reechard: If you think we don't need the second amendment right now, you haven't been paying attention to the south dakota pipeline situation.
Nov 24, 2016 11:29 PM - Reechard: if ever there were an example of a place where citizens should have armed themselves, that would be it.
Nov 25, 2016 7:32 AM - theLumberJack: having grown up in canada i never know what to think about things when people say that
Nov 25, 2016 10:14 AM - Statboy: when i look at that situation i think the opposite Reechard. I kinda hope the cops take off the kiddy gloves and start putting a few of those eco-terrorists down. Especially now that the eco-terrorists have started hurting people
Nov 25, 2016 10:26 AM - Statboy: The logic behind the eco-terrorists thinking has a few wild assumptions, all of which would have to come true for there to be a problem. Nor do they consider that we have the EPA whose very job is to make sure the companies building the pipeline, take an inordinate amount of precautions
Nov 25, 2016 10:29 AM - VintagePC: heaven forbid california, the CARB would be all over that shit
Nov 25, 2016 10:31 AM - Statboy: lol, every lawnmower for sale in Missouri from the major producers has a sticker saying "Not for Sale in California"
Nov 25, 2016 10:33 AM - Statboy: because they have such over the top restrictions on their engines that it costs about double the price to produce a lawnmower thats legal in Cali
Nov 25, 2016 2:24 PM - Statboy: Vint, what happened in Boston? CNN aired hard core porn in Boston for 1/2 an hour
Nov 25, 2016 3:46 PM - VintagePC: lolwut...
Nov 25, 2016 3:46 PM - VintagePC: thanksgiving present for the lonely single guys :p

Nov 26, 2016 5:59 AM - VaultBot: like for example wifi tethering. you could say....puts on sunglasses... lavared yeeeeah
Nov 26, 2016 5:59 AM - TimeCrush: "Eco-terrorists" :stir:
Nov 26, 2016 6:01 AM - TimeCrush: I don't think I've met somebody more faithful to the government.
Nov 26, 2016 9:04 AM - Statboy: you know the difference between a Protester and an Eco-terrorist? They cross that line when they begin planning attacks to either damage the physical property of the group they are against, or to attack police and workers. Those South Dakota nutters have crossed that line half a dozen times, they are Eco-Terrorists
Nov 26, 2016 11:12 AM - VintagePC: same with the rioters and looters. Boston had a few peaceful anti-trump protests... other states (you can guess which) resorted to smashing and looting stores.
Nov 26, 2016 11:13 AM - VintagePC: because why not trash something that has nothing to do with the problem at hand and take shit that's not yours?

Nov 27, 2016 6:31 AM - TimeCrush: I feel like some of it is 'looters gonna loot' and just taking advantage of the situation regardless of the cause. Hell, I'd have to show some restraint if it was local to me being honest.
Nov 27, 2016 10:45 AM - Reechard: Looters are looters. At what point do you separate "eco terrorists" from "patriots defending their land from a threat using whatever means necessary"
Nov 27, 2016 10:45 AM - Reechard: they were being peaceful
Nov 27, 2016 10:45 AM - Reechard: they protested peacefully and were met with *fucking mercenaries with attack dogs* and a militarized police force
Nov 27, 2016 10:45 AM - Reechard: so they started escalating.
Nov 27, 2016 10:46 AM - Reechard: if you think it isn't "their land", they're building a fucking oil pipeline through/across the river that provides their drinking water.
Nov 27, 2016 10:46 AM - VaultBot: rofl i like it
Nov 27, 2016 10:46 AM - Reechard: I'd say collectively property ownership doesn't mean much when a population's water supply is at risk
Nov 27, 2016 1:30 PM - VintagePC: or when the government can just take it from you via civil forfeiture and its ilk
Nov 27, 2016 5:32 PM - Statboy: lol, they were peacefully breaking and entering, and peacefully destroying property, and peacefully trespassing
Nov 27, 2016 5:32 PM - Statboy: would you never want roads built or utilities? Do you think any utilities or highways would have been built without the government seizing those lands
Nov 27, 2016 5:33 PM - Statboy: the idea that the pipeline would automatically pollute the water is completely bonkers
Nov 27, 2016 5:35 PM - Statboy: the logic behind it is that because pipelines built without standards in the 1950'
s and 60's eventually had small leaks after 30 years without maintenance so obviously modern pipe built with high standards and regular maintenance schedules will do so as well.

Nov 27, 2016 5:36 PM - Hexalan: this is amazing
Nov 27, 2016 5:36 PM - Hexalan: stat is defending government action
Nov 27, 2016 5:37 PM - Statboy: i think the government regulations are too harsh and that they do too much actually
Nov 27, 2016 5:37 PM - Statboy: so the idea that these protestors think more needs to be done is laughable naive of reality
Nov 27, 2016 5:41 PM - VintagePC: yes, because oil companies are soo good at safety and maintaining their equipment and stuff
Nov 27, 2016 5:42 PM - VaultBot: i can't fid any good images to use @English in every post
Nov 27, 2016 5:42 PM - VintagePC: what they are good at is subcontracting so they have a scapegoat to point fingers at when shit inevitably does go wrong
Nov 27, 2016 5:43 PM - Statboy: who was BP's scape goat? They didn't point fingers, and one accident in the lifetime of that company is pretty freaking good
Nov 27, 2016 5:44 PM - Statboy: also they were far enough off shore to not fall under EPA restrictions, this natural gas pipeline is not
Nov 27, 2016 5:48 PM - Statboy: honestly i'm having trouble naming a single oil company who has had 2 major accidents, or that ever blamed a scape goat, I'm not coming up with any of the top of my head
Nov 27, 2016 6:26 PM - VintagePC: not just talking spills here
Nov 27, 2016 6:26 PM - VintagePC:
Nov 27, 2016 6:40 PM - VintagePC: and a quick google tells me BP is hardly "one accident in their lifetime"...
Nov 27, 2016 6:40 PM - VintagePC: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/...as/9680589/A-history-of-BPs-US-disasters.html
Nov 27, 2016 6:41 PM - VaultBot: finish up spawn?? just make a damn house with some cake
Nov 27, 2016 6:41 PM - Statboy: John Oliver and Jon Stewart do the same thing, use humorous red herrings to distract from the falicies of there logic
Nov 27, 2016 6:45 PM - VintagePC: Yes, it's a comedy show and not meant as a full detailed explanation... but he does shed light on things that are real issues
Nov 27, 2016 6:47 PM - Statboy: back to my original point, if you think there needs to be harsher restrictions/ punishments. There is an appropriate way to push for it, and whats going on in SD is most certainly the opposite of appropriate
Nov 27, 2016 6:49 PM - Statboy: I would have no problem if people decided who they wanted to vote for, for public office based on wanting to stop the pipeline. Or even putting it to a vote, but breaking the law makes you a criminal and you should be treated as such
Nov 27, 2016 6:51 PM - Statboy: If my opinion is overwritten in the proper course of democracy, then its up to me to put on big boy shorts and deal with it
Nov 27, 2016 6:54 PM - VintagePC: the problem with some of these kinds of issues is that a) the people directly affected by it might not have enough numbers to outvote those that don't care because it isn't in their backyard
Nov 27, 2016 6:54 PM - VintagePC: and b) sometimes voting isn't an option when all your choices are in the pockets of the corporations.
Nov 27, 2016 6:55 PM - Statboy: change who you put in office, the Conservatives just did
Nov 27, 2016 6:55 PM - Statboy: and 8 years ago the liberals did
Nov 27, 2016 6:57 PM - VintagePC: that addresses neither of those points.
Nov 27, 2016 6:59 PM - VintagePC: I certainly don't condone any sort of violent/destructive/squatter protesting and I'm not speaking specifically to the SD issue since I'm not familiar enough to comment on that situation
Nov 27, 2016 6:59 PM - VaultBot: one that makes holes in people
Nov 27, 2016 6:59 PM - Statboy: yes it does, do you think for a second Obama would let corporate interest dictate something that was important to him?
Nov 27, 2016 7:02 PM - VintagePC: that assumes it's important enough for him to care, and completely ignores the entirety of congress, which also needs to be involved
Nov 27, 2016 7:04 PM - Statboy: if its not, vote in somebody else
Nov 27, 2016 7:05 PM - Statboy: vote in somebody who its important too
Nov 27, 2016 7:05 PM - Statboy: the things that are important to the most people are what gets politicians elected, thats how Democracy works
Nov 27, 2016 7:06 PM - VaultBot: nvm this is it
Nov 27, 2016 7:06 PM - Statboy: if nobody gets elected over this issue, then its not important enough to the majority
Nov 27, 2016 7:06 PM - VintagePC: until you realize that many, many people don't care about a lot of issues because it's not in their backyard
Nov 27, 2016 7:07 PM - VintagePC: not to mention that some issues may not have been up for discussion at the time of election
Nov 27, 2016 7:08 PM - VintagePC: and already be said and done by the time the next one rolls around - at which point you as the citizen are royally screwed
Nov 27, 2016 7:12 PM - Statboy: the most important issues get addressed, and the less important ones don't, as it should be. If a minority of people think its a problem, its not a problem
Nov 27, 2016 7:14 PM - Statboy: its not possible to address every little thing, its just not
Nov 27, 2016 7:14 PM - VintagePC: which brings us back to my "not an issue because it's not in my backyard" point. There are things that are legitimate local problems
Nov 27, 2016 7:15 PM - VintagePC: yet you say that "vote in someone else" is a solution to every single situation.
Nov 27, 2016 7:15 PM - VintagePC: sorry, infer.
Nov 27, 2016 7:16 PM - VintagePC: and yes, I am certainly playing some devil's advocate here
Nov 27, 2016 7:17 PM - Statboy: we have local governments, the governor could stop it, the state legislator could stop it. County commissioners could probably stop it
Nov 27, 2016 7:20 PM - VaultBot: getting there vintage?
Nov 27, 2016 7:20 PM - Statboy: we have local governments for only in your backyard issues, it still has to have a majority that agrees with you. The SD pipeline is going ahead with a Liberal pres and liberal EPA. That speaks volumns
Nov 27, 2016 7:21 PM - VintagePC: ROFL. In my inbox: [freecycle] OFFER: George Foreman
Nov 27, 2016 7:22 PM - VaultBot: getting sworn in by the governor could stop it, the state legislator could stop it. county commissioners could probably stop it
Nov 27, 2016 7:22 PM - VintagePC: "36 inch George Foreman"
Nov 27, 2016 7:23 PM - VintagePC: ... why is he offering his 3 foot clone up for free?
Nov 27, 2016 7:26 PM - Statboy: lol, make massive sandvich?
Nov 27, 2016 7:26 PM - VintagePC: sounds kinky
Nov 27, 2016 7:29 PM - Statboy: it is

Nov 28, 2016 7:49 AM - TimeCrush: After being spoiled by a holiday weekend, these are harsh Mondays.
Nov 28, 2016 7:58 AM - Reechard: Stat completely ignored my question. At what point
Nov 28, 2016 7:58 AM - Reechard: Do criminals
Nov 28, 2016 7:58 AM - Reechard: become patriots
Nov 28, 2016 7:58 AM - Reechard: for ignoring the laws that were made unjustly?
Nov 28, 2016 7:58 AM - Reechard: yes, they're trespassing in their protest
Nov 28, 2016 7:59 AM - VaultBot: *pokes the penguin*
Nov 28, 2016 7:59 AM - Reechard: because they feel they have no other options
Nov 28, 2016 7:59 AM - Reechard: they're being met with literal military force, and most of it isn't actually from the military
Nov 28, 2016 7:59 AM - Reechard: are you only a patriot when you're part of the majority?
Nov 28, 2016 7:59 AM - Reechard: good thing we have an electoral college.
Nov 28, 2016 8:00 AM - Reechard: because I sure as fuck know half of the citizens of the US live in big cities, and if we had a nationwide vote for a 2% income tax for nationwide public transit, it'd probably pass.
Nov 28, 2016 8:00 AM - Reechard: because the 50% that live in big cities would be all for it.
Nov 28, 2016 8:01 AM - Reechard: but I know the entire other half of the population would never *SEE* that public transportation
Nov 28, 2016 8:01 AM - Reechard: just because something doesn't effect a lot of people, does not mean it's not ridiculously important
Nov 28, 2016 8:02 AM - Reechard: not allowing huge environmental risks like this is incredibly important
Nov 28, 2016 8:02 AM - Reechard: because this shows us how stupidly dependent we still are on fossil fuels.
Nov 28, 2016 8:02 AM - VaultBot: nah, i think i'll pass. for some reason needless drama for the security of a free state, the right of the people directly affected by it might not have enough numbers to outvote those that don't care because it isn't in their lifetime"...
Nov 28, 2016 8:02 AM - Reechard: that we have to pipe them around in 24" pressurized pipes.
Nov 28, 2016 8:03 AM - Reechard: during a period in technology where we have the power to get rid of them, and it's actually finally cheaper than using oil or coal.
Nov 28, 2016 8:03 AM - Reechard: but the government still forces them down our throats.
Nov 28, 2016 8:04 AM - Reechard: 2 years ago Australia had legislation pass that prevented them from building solar to feed the entire continent.
Nov 28, 2016 8:04 AM - Reechard: they kept running coal plants.
Nov 28, 2016 8:04 AM - Reechard: this was after it was *proven* that it was cheaper to build solar *if the coal was free*
Nov 28, 2016 8:04 AM - Reechard: so, cheaper by an order of magnitude.
Nov 28, 2016 8:04 AM - Reechard: and it failed to go through.
Nov 28, 2016 8:12 AM - TimeCrush: But Reechard, VOTING! :stir:
Nov 28, 2016 8:12 AM - TimeCrush: Stat, rebuttal?
Nov 28, 2016 8:21 AM - Reechard: yeah, voting is great when people are honest
Nov 28, 2016 8:22 AM - Reechard: but when you get someone who claims to care about the environment during their campaign, and then get into office and fuck everything up
Nov 28, 2016 8:22 AM - Reechard: and start claiming they "don't believe" in climate change as if their belief fucking matters
Nov 28, 2016 8:22 AM - Reechard: "I don't believe shooting myself in the head will kill me."
Nov 28, 2016 8:23 AM - Reechard: well you're a fucking idiot because you've seen the evidence to the contrary.
Nov 28, 2016 9:13 AM - Statboy: Reechard, I'm gonna have to give you the long answer, so i'll do that in the Serious Discussion. BTW can we just rename that forum Stat's Soapbox?
Nov 28, 2016 9:14 AM - Statboy: I do enjoy having my beliefs challenged. It shows me more than anything what I have and have not considered both sides of the issue on
Nov 28, 2016 9:14 AM - TimeCrush: No no no no, come on. Put that shit in box. This is my straight up Jerry Springer workplace check-in. Plus, box gives us the full chat history to recall everything in the order it was said, rather than cherry pick answers and questions in long form posting.
Nov 28, 2016 9:18 AM - Statboy: rofl, already typing in the forums
Nov 28, 2016 9:20 AM - TimeCrush: COWARD
Nov 28, 2016 9:20 AM - TimeCrush: =P
Nov 28, 2016 9:21 AM - Statboy: its too long
Nov 28, 2016 9:21 AM - Statboy: *that's what she said*
Nov 28, 2016 9:26 AM - TimeCrush: Oh man, back to rolling this week as well.
Nov 28, 2016 9:31 AM - Statboy: yup
Nov 28, 2016 9:42 AM - English: :nomnom
Nov 28, 2016 9:43 AM - English: which is exactly what im doing
Nov 28, 2016 9:43 AM - English: and what I have been doing these past few weeks
Nov 28, 2016 9:51 AM - Statboy: you guys should engage and talk with us
Nov 28, 2016 10:07 AM - Statboy: done
Nov 28, 2016 10:27 AM - Statboy: you guys realize I used to be more liberal than anybody here?
Nov 28, 2016 10:45 AM - VaultBot: someone else being forced to be related to post ratings only still functional though because you had the same issue thankfully my parents did actually help pay for it.
Nov 28, 2016 10:45 AM - TimeCrush: I think and argue with a lot of emotion, I'm not good for debate.
Nov 28, 2016 10:45 AM - VaultBot: vint, what happened in boston? cnn aired hard core porn in boston for 1/2 an hour after you left, didn't
Nov 28, 2016 10:45 AM - TimeCrush: At some point I will devolve into "No, fuck you, how can you seriously think like that"
Nov 28, 2016 11:34 AM - Statboy: Emotion vs Logic is root of most political disagreements. Liberals and Conservatives tend to actually see the same issues.
Nov 28, 2016 11:46 AM - TimeCrush: Alright Reechard, you've been put on blast in sizable length. The Title bares your name, how will you contend?
Nov 28, 2016 11:47 AM - TimeCrush: And ultimately Stat I realize that mostly I fight for things that interest me, or directly benefit me. As much as people like to think/fool themselves into thinking they are being guided by a moral compass.
Nov 28, 2016 11:48 AM - TimeCrush: I play more of a 'Not everybody can win, not everybody will win. Red Rover Red Rover, send TC on over.'
Nov 28, 2016 12:24 PM - Statboy: Honestly it was switching over to thinking logically through the entirety of a problem and problems with solutions that made me a conservative
Nov 28, 2016 12:26 PM - VaultBot: so...it's borderlands 2.5
Nov 28, 2016 12:26 PM - Statboy: like Solar/Wind energy, yes its better. Buts its not in a practical enough state to switch to it on a large scale. Creating higher taxes on Coal only raises the cost of living without addressing the problem of the resource being non-renewable.
Nov 28, 2016 12:27 PM - TimeCrush: What about the garbage burning thing I hear in Sweeden? Any drawbacks to that you can see?
Nov 28, 2016 12:51 PM - Statboy: We do that about 15 miles south of me, I believe San Fran is leading the way in recycling garbage and using the rest to create power
Nov 28, 2016 12:52 PM - Statboy: I like it, its more expensive, but as we develop the process and technology I think that will be equal price
Nov 28, 2016 12:53 PM - VaultBot: such dork. much facepalm
Nov 28, 2016 12:53 PM - Statboy: saying we need should shut down coal/nuclear plants right now to convert to a system that isn't ready for primetime yet is impracticable though
Nov 28, 2016 12:54 PM - TimeCrush: Would you say putting a deadline on when we should switch would be more ideal?
Nov 28, 2016 12:55 PM - TimeCrush: If not I can easily see a situation where the current coal industries would want to sandbag the systems advancements as much as possible.
Nov 28, 2016 12:55 PM - TimeCrush: "For better or for worse, we are switching on ___ no matter what."
Nov 28, 2016 12:57 PM - Statboy: I would provide research grants to continue to improve the technology. Once in its in a ready for primetime state, I would provide monetary rebates to municipalities to switch. I would even provide tax breaks to the electrical companies that do this if they provide non-compete job interviews to people from the coal industry who lost there job from the transition
Nov 28, 2016 1:00 PM - Statboy: basically don't leave it up to the coal plants to switch over, bribe local governments to make the switch
Nov 28, 2016 1:02 PM - TimeCrush: Sounds nice. Where would that grant and rebate money come from? I'm looking for anyway people currently profiting off coal, would make opportunity to drag this down.
Nov 28, 2016 1:03 PM - Statboy: Research grants are given by state and federal governments. I would cut off research grants going to things like "Why are lesbians fat" which we spent over 5 million on
Nov 28, 2016 1:03 PM - Statboy: send those grants to more practical things like renewable energy
Nov 28, 2016 1:05 PM - Statboy: coal would fight it, and would go down like leaded fuel
Nov 28, 2016 2:24 PM - theLumberJack: is stat campaigning
Nov 28, 2016 2:24 PM - theLumberJack: box looks like stat is campaigning
Nov 28, 2016 2:38 PM - TimeCrush: Thats a color I'm not familiar with.
Nov 28, 2016 2:38 PM - TimeCrush: AND ITS GONE
Nov 28, 2016 2:38 PM - theLumberJack: lol
Nov 28, 2016 3:17 PM - Statboy: lol LJ, sometimes I think you guys rile me up about politics on purpose
Nov 28, 2016 3:17 PM - theLumberJack: somedays we do ;)
Nov 28, 2016 3:17 PM - theLumberJack: you have interesting opinions
Nov 28, 2016 3:20 PM - theLumberJack: goddamnit matlab stop crashing
Nov 28, 2016 3:33 PM - theLumberJack: we're playing on thursday right
Nov 28, 2016 5:45 PM - VintagePC: mustard does not obey the laws of the world
Nov 28, 2016 5:45 PM - VintagePC: -> mustard water on top of the mustard. Shake jar, leave it upside down for next use
Nov 28, 2016 5:45 PM - VintagePC: -> Go to use upside down jar. Still get watery mustard from the bottom of the squeeze bottle
Nov 28, 2016 5:45 PM - VintagePC: WTF
Nov 28, 2016 5:46 PM - VintagePC: TRUMP WAS SUPPOSED TO FIX THIS

Nov 28, 2016 5:46 PM - VintagePC: what a drumpf
Nov 28, 2016 7:05 PM - Hexalan: is there a reason serious discussion forum posts don't push notifications to box?
Nov 28, 2016 7:06 PM - Hexalan: once english replied to something i said, and i didn't see it until literally a year later
Nov 28, 2016 7:07 PM - Statboy: because its Stat's soapbox, and must be hidden in the corner
Nov 28, 2016 7:07 PM - Statboy: also, I'll ask Trump to deport all the mustard for you vint
Nov 28, 2016 7:22 PM - Hexalan: do you have like, a list of thomas sowell quotes that you go through on a schedule?
Nov 28, 2016 7:23 PM - Statboy: no i haven't changed my quotes in a while actually
Nov 28, 2016 7:24 PM - Statboy: I'm thinking since trump won, i should start quoting Milo
Nov 28, 2016 7:24 PM - VintagePC: shoutbox only shows thread posts that are visible to guestss
Nov 28, 2016 7:24 PM - VintagePC: stat's soapbox requires you to be a registered user

Nov 28, 2016 at 7:44 PM - VintagePC: Sorry, Geoff already claimed it for his atheist soapbox :p

Nov 29, 2016 at 10:44 AM - Reechard: Honestly stat, I read your thing
Nov 29, 2016 at 10:45 AM - Reechard: and I do not have the energy or time it would take to reply to it correctly
Nov 29, 2016 at 10:45 AM - Reechard: solar is cheaper than coal now.
Nov 29, 2016 at 10:45 AM - Reechard: now without subsidies even:

Nov 29, 2016 at 10:48 AM - TimeCrush: It is like Stat ran a filibuster on the entire argument.
Nov 29, 2016 at 10:48 AM - Reechard: yeah
Nov 29, 2016 at 10:48 AM - TimeCrush: Exactly why I wanted to ignore long form posting
Nov 29, 2016 at 10:48 AM - TimeCrush: There becomes to much to respond to
Nov 29, 2016 at 10:48 AM - TimeCrush: And you digress on shit when addressing one point.
Nov 29, 2016 at 10:49 AM - Reechard: the space solar takes up is irrelevant with the sheer amount of open unused landmass we have available.
Nov 29, 2016 at 10:50 AM - TimeCrush: Also if you aren't a fan of statistics (Because they are parlor tricks aiding the speaker according to you.) why the hell is your name Statboy?
Nov 29, 2016 at 11:16 AM - English: :nomnomnom
Nov 29, 2016 at 11:43 AM - VintagePC: I'm all for open discussion and learning to understand others' opinions but there's a point where it just becomes too much
Nov 29, 2016 at 11:44 AM - VintagePC: then I just think back to this:
duty_calls.png

Nov 29, 2016 at 12:55 PM - Reechard: yeah I saw that wall-o-text and was just like "nah"
Nov 29, 2016 at 6:06 PM - Statboy: Reechard if we had so much unused land mass, we'd run the pipeline through that, and nobody would own that land to be offended
Nov 29, 2016 at 6:07 PM - VaultBot: nah, i think i'll pass. for some reason needless drama for the lulz anyway
Nov 29, 2016 at 6:07 PM - Statboy: TC i got stuck with Statboy playing fantasy sports
Nov 29, 2016 at 6:09 PM - Hexalan: land that isn't being used that can have solar panels on it isn't the same as land between oil fields and oil refineries
Nov 29, 2016 at 6:10 PM - VaultBot: job vintag
Nov 29, 2016 at 6:10 PM - Statboy: different conversation hex, i'm talking about how you'd still have to buy the land to put up solar panels
Nov 29, 2016 at 6:11 PM - Statboy: Reechard, your bloomberg article lists Solar at 2.99 per kilowatt hour; coal is still cheaper
Nov 29, 2016 at 6:11 PM - Statboy: but nuclear is the cheapest still
Nov 29, 2016 at 6:13 PM - Statboy: Vint, you can't be like that man, this stuff is important. You can't just only listen to your liberal media's and tune out the rest.
Nov 29, 2016 at 6:15 PM - Statboy: I keep asking people, do you go out of your way to follow politics and become as educated as you can be on the issues, going as far as to seek out the other side of the argument and understand it
Nov 29, 2016 at 6:16 PM - Statboy: 100% of people who have said yes to that when I asked, where conservatives. Most like me, used to be liberal until we actually looked at the conservative argument
Nov 29, 2016 at 6:17 PM - Statboy: Reechard is probably the most educated on the issues liberal I've met. Which is part of why I like to engage with him on the issues
Nov 29, 2016 at 6:57 PM - VintagePC: For me it's more a pragmatic thing. I can't influence these issues (not eligible to vote) so do I spend a bunch of time trying to understand/decide/research/weigh in on on something I can't change, or do I put that time to more practical use that actually does some good around me?
Nov 29, 2016 at 7:00 PM - VintagePC: and I'm far from one to participate in a self-propagating propaganda media circlejerk
Nov 29, 2016 at 7:01 PM - VintagePC: All media is biased, not specifically liberal or conservative, but rather whatever makes the biggest clickbait/sensationalist content for their audience
Nov 29, 2016 at 7:02 PM - VaultBot: nah, just today's silly shoutbox addon
Nov 29, 2016 at 7:02 PM - VintagePC: and most definitely, often those divisions run along political lines.
Nov 29, 2016 at 7:06 PM - VintagePC: I also see double standards... you constantly excuse things as "liberal media" but if I point out something you post smacks of republican bias, I get told it's legit
Nov 29, 2016 at 7:35 PM - Statboy: When I talk about liberal media, I'm saying they only represent one side of the issue, same as conservative media. The point I was making is that you have to follow both media's, I go out of my way to read/ watch the liberal media's as well as conservative
Nov 29, 2016 at 7:36 PM - Statboy: If I didn't, I would consider myself uninformed
Nov 29, 2016 at 7:37 PM - Statboy: yes all media is biased, and you have to understand which side of the issue the media your viewing falls on, so that you can research the other side as well
Nov 29, 2016 at 7:41 PM - Hexalan: ok fun fact
Nov 29, 2016 at 7:42 PM - Hexalan: "media" is the plural form of the word
Nov 29, 2016 at 7:42 PM - Hexalan: apostrophes are used to denote an omission of a letter, or possession
Nov 29, 2016 at 7:43 PM - Hexalan: for example, "harold's turtle" refers to the turtle that belongs to harold. "don't" is a contraction of "do not", where the ' represents the omitted o
Nov 29, 2016 at 7:48 PM - Statboy: I think we can all agree, the Joe Biden meme's are hilarious
Nov 29, 2016 at 7:54 PM - VintagePC: Your comment fell on deaf ears, hex
Nov 29, 2016 at 8:09 PM - Hexalan: rip
Nov 29, 2016 at 8:11 PM - Hexalan: please stat
Nov 29, 2016 at 8:12 PM - Hexalan: it is important to me that you know what apostrophes are for
Nov 29, 2016 at 8:21 PM - VaultBot: vote in somebody who its important too
Nov 29, 2016 at 8:21 PM - VintagePC: Tomorrow's lesson: Their/They're/There. :stir:
Nov 29, 2016 at 8:38 PM - VaultBot: hell yah, i've watched plenty of em, i'm sure i like where that is suing her parents, bend her over your knee, and give her a good spanking
Nov 29, 2016 at 8:38 PM - Statboy: lol, i need those lessons, I have terrible grammer
Nov 29, 2016 at 8:41 PM - VaultBot: but there are a few standards
Nov 29, 2016 at 8:41 PM - VintagePC:
1f27mr.jpg

Nov 29, 2016 at 8:45 PM - VintagePC: They're = they are (contraction, They're going to the mall), There = place (that thing there), Their = ownership (Their purple elephant)
Nov 29, 2016 at 8:46 PM - VintagePC: and for the ultimate combination (and possbly a way to help remember): They're teaching their elephant a trick over there.
Nov 29, 2016 at 8:47 PM - VintagePC: A wild DeBo appears
Nov 29, 2016 at 8:49 PM - Hexalan: stat i'll tutor you in grammar for minimum wage
Nov 29, 2016 at 8:53 PM - VintagePC: Ugh,,, prime kindle is such a tease
Nov 29, 2016 at 8:53 PM - VintagePC: so far every book I've been interested in they let you read for free is the first in a series
Nov 29, 2016 at 8:53 PM - VintagePC: and the rest you either have to buy or subscribe to another service to read
Nov 29, 2016 at 8:54 PM - VintagePC: NOPE.avi
Nov 29, 2016 at 9:00 PM - Hexalan: actually i'll do it for one corn chip
Nov 29, 2016 at 9:05 PM - Statboy: I have a bag of corn chips, they're the black ones though
Nov 29, 2016 at 9:05 PM - Statboy: nevermind thats tortilla chips
Nov 29, 2016 at 9:17 PM - Hexalan: aren't tortillas supposed to made of corn?
Nov 29, 2016 at 9:25 PM - Statboy: you can get corn or flour, I prefer flour

Nov 30, 2016 7:08 AM - TimeCrush: Light and flaky
Nov 30, 2016 7:08 AM - VaultBot: here, called the real touch
Nov 30, 2016 7:08 AM - TimeCrush: But can't hold a hearty dip for shit
Nov 30, 2016 10:58 AM - Statboy: i hate all store bought salsa, but love all resturant made salsa
Nov 30, 2016 11:25 AM - Hexalan:
x2N6Rl5.jpg

Nov 30, 2016 11:26 AM - theLumberJack: amazing
Nov 30, 2016 11:32 AM - theLumberJack: TIS-100 is a great game
Nov 30, 2016 11:33 AM - Statboy: do you want it, or do you already own it?
Nov 30, 2016 11:35 AM - Statboy: i honestly just bought that bundle for Grimrock 2 and Secret World for under $5
Nov 30, 2016 11:35 AM - theLumberJack: i have it already
Nov 30, 2016 11:35 AM - theLumberJack: thats how i know its great
Nov 30, 2016 11:40 AM - TimeCrush: There is this Taco truck near my house that I wouldn't be surprised is ran entirely by illegals - and I couldn't care less, you are feeding me dope shit - Their guacamole and salsa is hands down the best I've ever tasted.
Nov 30, 2016 11:43 AM - theLumberJack: We have a taco bus
Nov 30, 2016 11:43 AM - VaultBot: you got a better spy than you, dude.
Nov 30, 2016 11:43 AM - theLumberJack: it looks like a gecko
Nov 30, 2016 11:51 AM - Statboy: my towns Mexican restaurant is half illegals living in the apartments above the restaurant. That food is damn delicious though.
Nov 30, 2016 1:41 PM - TimeCrush: That perfectly encapsulates my stance on illegals. Are you doing it better than people here can? Do it. Not doing anything? Hmmmm
Nov 30, 2016 3:37 PM - Statboy: that's a simplistic view to a complex issue
Nov 30, 2016 4:26 PM - VintagePC: Totally calling dibs on TIS. I fucking loved spacechem
Nov 30, 2016 4:41 PM - Reechard: I just realized Stat called me a "liberal"
Nov 30, 2016 4:41 PM - Reechard: how do you know you're a good moderate?
Nov 30, 2016 4:42 PM - Reechard: when the right wing calls you a raging liberal and the left wing calls you a nazi.
Nov 30, 2016 5:13 PM - VintagePC: lol
Nov 30, 2016 5:14 PM - VintagePC: at this point I think it's just an insult in the "us vs them" mentality
Nov 30, 2016 6:13 PM - Statboy: The conservative position on Immigration is we need to expand the legal ways to gain citizenship, but can't do that until we stop the illegal means.
Nov 30, 2016 6:14 PM - VaultBot: reechard, your bloomberg article lists solar at 2.99 per kilowatt hour; coal is still cheaper
Nov 30, 2016 6:14 PM - Statboy: also, sent you the key
Nov 30, 2016 6:15 PM - VaultBot: send those grants to continue to improve the technology. once in its in a while actually

Nov 30, 2016 7:56 PM - VintagePC: yes
Nov 30, 2016 7:57 PM - theLumberJack: what are you trying to do?

Nov 30, 2016 8:00 PM - VintagePC: hmmm
Nov 30, 2016 8:00 PM - VaultBot: let the derpiness commence
Nov 30, 2016 8:00 PM - VintagePC: maybe lead fishing weights
Nov 30, 2016 8:03 PM - VintagePC: or I should just ask my local hardware store if they have a bucket of misc screws I can buy by the pound
Nov 30, 2016 8:05 PM - theLumberJack: lol
Nov 30, 2016 8:06 PM - theLumberJack: bearings?

Nov 30, 2016 8:06 PM - theLumberJack: are bearings cheap?
Nov 30, 2016 8:07 PM - VintagePC: as in just the balls?
Nov 30, 2016 8:07 PM - theLumberJack: yeah
Nov 30, 2016 8:07 PM - VintagePC: those are generally sold as "slingshot ammo"and probably subject to the same restrictions as pellets
Nov 30, 2016 8:08 PM - theLumberJack: go to the hardware store and ask the guy to just buy his balls
Nov 30, 2016 8:08 PM - VintagePC: lol
Nov 30, 2016 8:11 PM - theLumberJack: but like ask the guy what he would do
Nov 30, 2016 8:12 PM - theLumberJack: with his balls
Nov 30, 2016 8:17 PM - VintagePC: hah
Nov 30, 2016 8:18 PM - VintagePC: TIS reminds me of my CS logic design class
Nov 30, 2016 8:18 PM - VintagePC: part of that was assembly on simulated hardware
Nov 30, 2016 8:19 PM - VintagePC: one of the assignments was to make a program that printed "hello world"
Nov 30, 2016 8:19 PM - VaultBot: she needs an ass whooping so she won't try again in the "us vs them" mentality
Nov 30, 2016 8:19 PM - VintagePC: the entire class just derped and made a program whose opcodes spelled that
Nov 30, 2016 8:19 PM - VaultBot: for consumers who demand to have a majority that agrees with you. the sd forum now
Nov 30, 2016 8:19 PM - VintagePC: as opposed to one that actually moved stuff to the screen register
Nov 30, 2016 8:26 PM - theLumberJack: lol
Nov 30, 2016 8:26 PM - theLumberJack: i took a microprocessors class that was taught in all assembly
Nov 30, 2016 8:26 PM - theLumberJack: the next year another professor took over teaching it and did it mostly in C
Nov 30, 2016 8:27 PM - theLumberJack: lucky buggers
Nov 30, 2016 8:45 PM - VintagePC: we did both, it was a class in both hardware and operating systems
Nov 30, 2016 9:40 PM - theLumberJack: i haven't had a course on OSes
Nov 30, 2016 9:40 PM - theLumberJack: plenty of hardware and embedded systems though

Nov 30, 2016 9:57 PM - theLumberJack: one of my favourite courses was integrated circuits design

Dec 1, 2016 6:22 AM - TimeCrush: Had a crazy dream where I was in this big park that overlooked Tiger Stadium in Detroit.
Dec 1, 2016 6:22 AM - TimeCrush: Raining like hell, I'm trying to weave through the crowd to get to some like gazeebo structure a bunch of people were gathered under still watching the game
Dec 1, 2016 6:24 AM - TimeCrush: And once I get there and am still making my way to an edge I can see, somebody clasps their hand on my shoulder and in this familiar wise-cracking baritone says "Great day for a game!" and I turn around to see my grandfather. He died when I was 13, took me to my first game. Without missing a beat I said "Great day for a second one!" and just gave him a hug.
Dec 1, 2016 6:24 AM - TimeCrush: It felt so real and all we did was sit and watch the game.
Dec 1, 2016 8:35 AM - theLumberJack: thats beautiful
Dec 1, 2016 8:36 AM - theLumberJack: dammit tc you made me tear up and i haven't even eaten yet
Dec 1, 2016 9:17 AM - TimeCrush: Oh trust I balled like a baby soon as my alarm went off
Dec 1, 2016 9:49 AM - Reechard: that's a good dream to remember.
Dec 1, 2016 9:58 AM - Cheese4Everyone: Those vivid dreams are always kind of shocking, but it a good way, like a cold shower. You wake up feeling inexplicably refreshed and calm.
Dec 1, 2016 1:16 PM - TimeCrush: How are peoples schedules looking for tonight?
Dec 1, 2016 1:49 PM - Statboy: I'll be on time, I'm calling it now though, Vint will be 5 minutes late
