Scream Fortress 2 Halloween Event: Your Thoughts

I'm curious to know what your thoughts are on the event, particularly the Merasmus boss fight.

My thought's are is it's HARD. Too hard actually. Basically, if you don't have every single person in the server fighting this guy, you won't kill him. Additionally, most of the players need to be using the huntsman since it does the most damage the quickest (1080 damage per headshot if fully charged). If you have one guy griefing (killing the other team) during the boss battle, you probably won't kill him. In the server I was playing on, we had to resort to kicking anybody who killed another player. This included while we were waiting for Merasmus to spawn, just so we could hammer home the "no griefing" rule. So ya, it's tough, and if you don't put 100% effort along with your fellow players, you ain't killin' him.
 
They made him harder recently. He has more HP, but does the prop thing less. I don't know if the huntsman is still the best or not. I haven't seen him killed since they changed him up. It's not even worth it to try anymore, in my opinion.


Also, this event has caused keys to rise. They're now around 3 refined. I've been selling my keys at this price in the hopes that they'll come back down to 2.5.

The introduction of the year round haunted items and the new effects pretty much tell you all you need to know about this event:

They really need to nix the whole relies on a taunt mechanic and just make it an alt fire ability.

That said, I'm really impressed with this update, in comparison to last year's. It would have been nice if they had done something more with the zombie entities, maybe flesh it out into a Left 4 Dead style survival mode but hopefully that will come in the future.

Overall, I liked Merasmus, despite him being devilishly hard to kill. I think the only problem with fighting him is that there wasn't any way to delay his departure time, if they had something in to do that defeating him wouldn't be such a close call every time (barring level ups, of course). I loved the new voice lines, and that the boss was given a full voice over, it really helped make it stand out from previous years.

Keys will stay high until next year at least. Now that the holidays, especially Christmas is coming up, you will begin to see the highest prices in tf2. If you have something stored in your inventory, xmas is the time to sell to get the most value out of your items.

When you use the teleport, it counts as a taunt, so during halloween you have a 50% chance of doing the thriller taunt and not teleporting.

I had the same problem with my kritzkreig. I was trying to take a hit whilst on fire and it just did the thriller taunt.

I forgot about the kritz heal, now that we have an action slot they really need to make the thriller taunt as an action item.
 
the thriller taunt as action slot is a good idea, but it would have a full moon restriction or something
