2TB Hard Drive Not Appearing

Geoff

Sir "Let's Play"
Already chatted with English and Reechard about this, and at this point I'd like to try and fix it.

Basically, when we were trying to get Windows installed and what not, we were in the Bios. Sometimes the BIOS showed both hard drives, sometimes it showed one. But when we finally got it installed, Windows would not detect the second hard drive.

Anyone have any clue? Yes, everything is plugged in.

if your BIOS isn't picking it up, it's likely a bad cable or a bad controller on the drive itself. Swap out the SATA cable, and if it still acts up, try the drive in another computer, if possible. If it still acts up in the other machine, return that sucker.

The BIOS picks it up if I turn the pc off and back on. We've rechecked the cables multiple times.

still sounds like a wonky controller, that's when you will get those intermittent symptoms of being picked up/not picked up. I'd just exchange it and not trust it... even if I did get it working I wouldn't put anything important on it.

The plans for the 2TB was mainly to record without worry. So, nothing super important would be there.

Any porn I need is saved to my external. So, I'm never without my porn.

Anyway, I'll try to get my brother over on Monday. If he can't fix it, I'll return here
