Heroes of the Storm - Hero Overview

Geoff

Sir "Let's Play"

Can't wait. Really can't wait. =D

Now...if only Blizzard would make this third person like Smite...

Okay, Diablo and Tyrael alone are reasons to get this fucking game and Diablo's skins!! I WANT THEM NOW.

Game seems like a money grab so far. It costs $160 to get all 23 characters. And even though it's not released yet, with more MOBAs like DOTA2 and Strife being 100% free with everything unlocked for everyone I don't see a reason to put money or time into games that charge.

Diablo with a Murlock costume riding a Rainbow Unicorn.

Your argument is invalid.

I have to agree.... At this point in the MOBA world, with 2 free ones out there with millions of players (DOTA/LOL), another 2 with very large player bases (Smite/HON), and several others at various stages due to their quirks (Awesomenauts/SMNC).... They're releasing into a saturated market and are probably going to ride their fame into some easy money. Paying for characters sucks, even in LoL, but that's the easy one that everyone plays. I'm 100% fine with DOTA's system, paying for hats is a great model that doesn't screw with gameplay.

pretty sure you can buy champs with in game currency so its basically like every other f2p Moba out there.. if your impatient and must have everything NOW then i guess you pay for it.

Yeah you can use in game gold. But right now there's 2 mobas that have all the champs for free. I really like that model better.

? Who doesn't? Why should you have to put 100s of hours into a game to unlock everything? It's a bad trend going on even in full priced games.

I'm completely fine with how Smite did it. Besides, not everyone wants to unlock everything. I know there are heroes in this game that I won't ever look at twice. I want Diablo, Kerrigan, and a couple of others. Won't take long at all.

And Blizzard might toss in a great deal like HiRez did. Unlikely, but possible.

That's a silly argument. Why can't you have everything in a game unlocked and just play what you want to? And if the game is extremely fun then you can find things to charge, either cosmetic items or just release it as a paid game. There's several games that are already out and coming out that have everything unlocked and only cosmetic items for sale. And you can still play 2 or 3 champions from those games and not touch the other ones.

If the game is fun I'll play it. But I believe companies would be wise to look at Dota 2's model.

I'm wondering just how rich Geoff is. He is the only person that never seems to get offended by overt money grabbing and bad business practices by developers.

Not rich, but not stingy with money at all if a game looks interesting. Heroes of the Storm looks cool. And what other money grabbing games have I been happy about?

I've never bought any DLC for Mass Effect games. I don't really know what other EA games I even own.

Also Diablo III, Starcraft II.... There have been several games you've defended shitty money-grub tactics on. I'm not stingy with my money in the gaming world either, but please, give me the game and charge for cosmetics, or charge me for the game without microtransacting to death.

How are either D3 or SC2 "money grabbing"? I don't even own SC2...

More importantly is when have you ever thought something was a money grab? Everyone else here as thought that about some dev or game at least once
