Heroes of the Storm - Hero Overview

Maybe perhaps they did sc2 in 3 different installments where sc1 was a full story modes in one game with only 1 expansion. And Diablo 3 was so over hyped people were basically foaming at the mouth to buy it.

Yes, the real money auction house, and a game that was designed around it. Before you say "no it wasn't".... Really? Think long and hard about how overly-specialized the gear in the game was, and how often you got rare drops for your class. In the first 2 Diablo games it was hard to call rare loot "rare" because you got it often and for your class. It took some, but not a ridiculous amount of grinding to get yourself into full gear for your class, where D3 has the gear so overly specialized that you either grind for days or (conveniently) drop a bunch of money in their auction house.

Starcraft 2... What Snuffles said. Starcraft 2 was as long as the Terran 1/3 of Starcraft (no brood wars). They're charging $140 for "the game". This isn't even debatable. I've heard "games are shorter now and SC2 was a good length for a modern game", which is bullcrap. When you've developed an engine for an RTS, then all that needs done is to throw a bunch of maps and scenarios into that engine and BOOM you have a game. Releasing it in 3 installments that are not optional for a full gameplay experience is the definition of money grabbing.

1. I never touched the real money auction house. Never cared to. If people wanted to spend real money to skip gameplay, that's their choice. Seems pointless to me. D2 had it as well you know.

2. I don't fucking own Starcraft 2. The only positive thing about SC2 getting 3 games in one is that they are spending a HUGE amount of time on each one. Did you notice that the latest SC2 didn't come out 1 month later? It took a couple years.

Was I excited hearing that they were splitting it like that? No. I saw it as a huge money grab. But now? Shit, they're spending 2 years on each damn installment.

And SC2 is a full gameplay experience...

exactly i agree.... no one forced you to use it. I never used it. Not even to sell stuff... You could buy shit for d2 as well it just wasn't legit so it all depends on the person. I don't get why people made such a big deal about the RMAH when it wasn't a focus of the game.. D3 didn't have any competitive side to it mainly because there was no PvP so who gives a shit if person X buys some awesome weapon and person Y doesn't? I figured people would make a bigger fuss about pvp not being in it forever.
