Okey... given that some people would actually like visuals for their adventure tonight will be for everyone to
a) set up characters in roll20
b) get familiar with it
c) maaaybe start an adventure if we have time. I have one lined up but I don't know how roll20 works in relation to what I see vs what you see etc. so that needs to be sorted first.

Great first Adventure! Awesome job Vintage :D :D
Thanks :)

I don't know how practical it would be to have adventures every week and whether I can get the prep work done for them. I was thinking maybe in our "off" weekends we could still meet and play some casual Carcassonne. There's a free networkable client called JCloisterZone available here: http://jcloisterzone.com/en/

Thoughts?

If it wouldn't ruin your plans to much, I ran a d&d campaign a few months ago with my family. I could run that in the interim, it would take about 2 weeks and leave the party around level 3 with about 200 more gold, or I could shorten the campaign to 1 week (so long as are bard makes it in on time) that would leave the team level 2 with 100 more gold. I still have everything I attempted to set up on roll 20 before giving up and making it a tabletop game, but I could get it running before saturday.

I'll certainly keep that in mind, and having you guest-DM could be cool - but I think it might be something to keep in my back pocket for when I get serious and try to make a custom campaign myself since I anticipate it would take more than a week or two to get that up and running and you could run yours in the interim for the regular D&D fix.
Also what I'm really aiming for with it is to do a little more than just D&D too - we have a diverse crowd and I don't see any reason we can't have a regularly scheduled tabletop gaming night. D&D gets exclusive pretty quick once you have a fixed party and I'd like to try something casual and open where anyone can drop in and play.

I have no problem with this. It could give Vintage some time to setup the next adventure after (3 weeks). The other thing that Vintage wanted to know was possibly moving it to Sunday evenings. Roughly the same time. (He gets back into civilization on Sunday evening and would have way more reliable internets). The only other concern I would have about it is what would we do about your Character, Stat and Vintage's character (I am assuming that you would want to play Vintage) in the off time

I agree and don't at the same time Vintage. I really want to play and have been for a while. But things always seem to come up that prevent me or kill the campaign before it starts. I personally would rather it be a D&D more often than not, with the occasional tabletop/card game thrown in. Like if we are between adventures take a week so the DM can get setup thus giving him two weeks to setup. But I don't want to play mostly other games with the occasional D&D game... I'd rather see something more like 3 or 4 weekends of D&D with a weekend of something else. Please let me know if this is not what I should be expecting from this crowd.

Sundays is fine by me. I'm sure we could work something out between me and vint, where vint can make his own character, possibly have vint's character come in with comparable xp and equipment, and I gain a little of both when I come back. My campaign is low level though, made for level 1 characters to start.

No, that's definitely not what I meant, It would indeed be mostly D&D with the occasional other game thrown in for variety or a little extra prep time, as well as maybe ineresting more folks if they want to join should we decide to make new characters and start again in the future. If those "other game" nights prove popular there's no reason they couldn't be come a separate thing. :) Sorry if I came across as wanting to change plans significantly.

I think lets have Statboy run it for the next 2 weekends. That will get us to Lvl 3 and open up a lot more adventures for us. This can allow you time to prepare one or two multi level adventures for like 4-6 and 6-9 or something. And then after statboys adventure (so like in 3 weeks) maybe we play a game of carcassone. Since he has something all ready to go, you don't have to rush and can be well prepared for the next adventure. Plus we don't want you to get burnt out on DMing. Now you can be part of creating the lols :p

Added:

We really won't be able to use Stat's campaign again as it would be too low level and it might be too big of a pain in the future to scale it up.

Good point, I'm cool with that idea. Time to see if I can figure out how to make a character then... :p

I really wouldn't be able to scale it, I'm not that good as a DM. If everyone wants to do it lets do it, vintage can make a character sheet to your original specs, then give him an extra 80 gp to spend when he gets to the little town in my campaign, and you'll start with 900xp like everyone else. If everyone wants to log in this week and join the campaign so I can finish your characters follow this link.

Another option that could be a longer term solution if we wanted to keep the same DM is to setup a random tavern that we go to on off weekends and have some interesting encounters in the mix. It gives the chance for us to be around, Vintage to get more confident with his DM (although he did a damn good job last weekend), and do something DnD related in-between adventures.

I will signup to the adventure though.

That would be cool as well, i'm down for either.

Also Sunday means we can play as long as we want (within reason) since we won't have to break for POGO scrims. :)

Took a crack at character creation... does this seem reasonable? I used an online generator so I have no idea if it breaks rules or anything.

Other suggestions/advice welcome.

U used the same one i use, it looks good, but man did you get some OP skill roles. Spyglass has a cost of 1,000gp, so I doubt that fits in the price guidelines you laid out for us. You'll also need flask's of oil for your lamp (they are 1sp and 1lb a piece). By my math you can add 2 flask's of oil, carry 2 darts and still have 163gp left over. Make sure you keep track of how many darts you're carrying, they are 2 for 1gp.
