Brought to you by VaultF4, HUNDREDS of new Steam Games have been added to the Deal Vault in the month of May! Only have a few bucks? NO PROBLEM! With a major sale of up to 80% off, you can get top-name games for as low as $1.99!

Just click on the Menu of Everything at the top of our page, then click on the Deal Vault. Find your game, click on it, then follow the instructions! It's that easy!

(Edit: for the lazy: http://www.vaultf4.com/pages/dealvault/ )

I honestly find the deal vault to be kind of a mess. There are so many listings that if I am just casually looking for a sale I do not even want to waste my time diging through a list of 400 or so games to see what is available.

Okay... so then my next question would be how can we improve it? What sort of changes would you like to see that would make you come back and use it?

A couple of factors contribute to making it feel overwhelming. The fact that it lists (I think) ALL the sales from three different companies makes the list just huge and impractical. I am not sure about this, but does it also double list a game if it is on sale by more than one place? In addition there if you are just poking around looking at general sales, there is no way to sort by category, which I am sure would be very impractical for this website setup, but because the list is so big I feel like I need such a feature to even begin to find any deal that may interest me.

Games will be double listed because we have no way to cross reference them, and one place might be selling a collector's edition when the other is not, or the price might be different, etc. (or some people will even prefer one service over another even if it is more expensive)

Categories is also a problem. I'd have loved to put something like that in there, but this information isn't contained in any of the deal information we get! it's just title, store, discount, and that's it.The images aren't even included, I have to manually extract the game ID from the URL and pull the correct file from the store CDN.

Would it help if there were quicklinks to only show one of steam/desura/GMG etc. sales?

How about a page with just "today's deals" showing only the ones added in the last 24 hours? I can also do other pages like maybe the 20 biggest discounts ($ wise and/or %wise) if you think that would make it more manageable. Any of those could be the front page with a link to "Enter the vault" and browse ALL deals.

Being able to select a specific store would be a move in the right direction I think. I know you can sort by store right now, but it still leaves you going through pages of other store listings depending which place you are looking at. I definitely like the idea of sales added in the 24 hours or so with an option to see all.

Give it a whirl and let me know how you like the changes I've made.

I haven't implemented a "biggest discount" page yet because it doesn't jive with the back-end processing at current, but it's something I could do without _too_ much work if you think it would be an asset.

Okay, I really like the 24 hour listing. I could see myself checking that daily.
Just to let you know I'm working on something that will also provide genre+ other information. Unfortunately it will be difficult to sort by genre since games tend to have an arbitrary number of genres assigned to them (or none) but at least you'd be able to type 'Strategy' in the search box and limit by genre.

:)

Update: New stuff has been integrated for some stores (steam, desura (NEW STORE, w00t!, GG). Am still working on others like GMG.
Let me know if you encounter problems.
