We want to know what YOU want to play. We're looking for requests and ideas for new servers. What do you want to play? What do your friends want to play with you?

What we want:
-Solid suggestions for games that have a dedicated server that we can install and host, and use our server experience to build a rock-solid game environment for you and your friends.
-Suggestions for maps, gamemodes, and mods for the server
-Suggestions for how to get the word out once we have it up
-A dedicated playerbase of folks that will come in and populate the new server, bring their friends, and find folks to use it
-A dedicated playerbase that will be willing to play on the server for a long time.
-If possible, an extra copy of the game to throw at Vintage or myself. Not necessary, but it'll sure help us test things.

What we don't want:
-"Build an illegal hacked WoW server for us so we can get raided by the feds"
-To spend 12+ hours building a stable server that sits empty
-To spend 12+ hours plus who knows how many more hours building and maintaining a server that only gets used for a month
-Please build *insert game name* but we don't know what gamemode/maps/mods to use and will be mad and give up when it's not right the first time. (This has happened before.)
-Please build *insert game name* by tomorrow and have it perfect. (Any requests will be 2-3, maybe more weeks away. We'll work on it!)
-TRIAL

We're hoping to have some spare server resources in the very near future, and while we'd love to just throw up servers and hope they work, we'd much rather put up something that *you* as players will *want* to make work. That'll make our lives easier.

The lack of comments in this section says a lot. I think we should just be keeping an eye out for future release games, that will require a server to play on, and will have a large number of people in the clan that are going to buy the game. At the moment I don't really think anything fits that criteria.

We're certainly keeping an eye on things like Cubeworld to see if massive multiplayer takes off there.

I think a lot of the problem does come from the fact that not many games are made as hostable dedicated multiplayer anymore... at least not on a large scale. Many games have either private servers from the developer, or are set up such that it's a P2P setup with one player hosting and the others connecting to that player.

true especially with a lot of games that seem to care about having 'ranked' servers it became a trend 7-8 years ago for developers to charge server licensing fees.. make money from people playing the game as well as people hosting the game. Although I think at some point it must hit a threshold and it might backfire the prices for a 70 player bf4 server are pretty high at around $96+ I very much doubt many communities would be willing to pay that much for the longterm.. for just one server.
Have you guys tried CSGO at all? I heard all the cool kids play that now and it surpassed tf2 in popularity.

CSGO... ugh. This thread about sums it up what happened last time we tried it, back as FFN:

In particular, Debo's post (#6) more or less still illustrates the situation.

Basically, I got bitched at because it "wasn't right" but when I asked what was wrong/needed fixing, *crickets*. So it's a bit of a sore point for me. Doesn't mean I won't reconsider if asked... just that I need to really see some interest/dedication from the community.

As it currently stands I'm also looking at a few other things to expand into that I could do without too much time commitment from myself or others and broaden us out from being primarily a tf2 community.

What would it take to have a BF4 server? I mean its the new game right now and I am sure will be all the rage for several months to come.

I looked around for probably an hour today while at work.... It looks like EA (being the way EA is) has deals with server providers.... On the sites I found it said "offered through trusted server providers." There's no self-host to download, and, while it is in our new gameserver panel, it isn't available to be installed without a license. This is why we no likey the EA.

How much of that is just EA being shi*? I personally am still boycotting them for many anti-consumer practices.
Well, I was mainly referring to how just about any "big" multiplayer game has transitioned away from dedicated servers that anyone can host - they either do stuff like this, or one of the players hosts the game if there are only a handful of others. The last A-level title I can think of that wasn't like this was CSGO.
