Installing sourcemod causes segfault on player join?

Note: I am running Ubuntu

I got the metamod and sourcemod linux files and installed them in the root/tf2classic folder
so my addons, config folder are now at:
/tf2classic/addons
/tf2classic/cfg

metamod & sourcemod files sit inside of addons.

I can boot up the server, typing in RCON "meta" or "sm" both return a list of commands as they should. However when I connect from my TF2C game it gets stuck on "Parsing Game Info" and the RCON shows a segmentation fault.

Code: 
AC secure mode is activated.
Client "Sheeplie" connected (108.208.11.181:27005).
Server waking up from hibernation
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

Then it starts again and works fine until I rejoin, then it repeats.

This suggests your gamedata is out of date or incorrect, that's one of the first things I'd check.

Do you have any non-stock plugins present?

No. This is my first tinkering with the server files since I installed the server yesterday, and it was just to put on metamod & sourcemod.
I don't know much about gamedata but will look into it.
 
MM 1.11.0 and SM 1.10.0

I'm not sure who "owns" the server setup guide but I have something at the back of my mind that SM/MM ask people to not mirror or rehost their downloads.
