This thread will give you an overview of the custom mods we run on some of our servers and what's involved in the gameplay.
You do NOT need to download anything to play - It's all taken care of when you connect to the server!

PropHunt:
Also known as Hide-N-Seek, this mod is exactly as it sounds:
RED:
At the beginning of the round, you will be disguised as a random prop (object) in the map.Your goal is to survive.
You win either if the timer runs out or all BLU players (Pyros) die.
LEFT click locks/unlocks your prop in place so you can look around without moving.
RIGHT click toggles first/third person view for large props, or so you can run and/or check your position easily.
Supporters: You have access to the propmenu to choose your prop!
BLU:
As a pyro, it is your job to find and locate those pesky scout props. Obey the voices in your head and BURN THEM!
Be careful though, because your ammo count and health are linked - as you shoot/attack, you lose HP. BLU wins by killing ALL the props.
Additonal points:
Last Prop Standing:If you are the sole remaining prop on RED, You are awarded your weapon loadout, Crits, and all Pyros will have Jarate applied. Good Luck!
Control Point: The control point provides a refresh of your HP and ammunition, but only once every so-often. Watch for "Control Point Bonus" messages in chat to know when you can get your next fill!

Dodgeball:
Well, more like DodgeRocket, but just as fun:
RED/BLU:
Everyone is a pyro, and your goal is to survive. Airblast rockets aimed at you and your team to reflect them and wipe out the other team!
Rocket Speed: Usually, rockets will speed up and their damage will increase after each successful reflect. This resets back to normal when the rocket explodes, but not in all maps - see below.
Watch out though, if you stray too close to an exploding rocket, you may get caught in the blast.
Beware of Nukes!: They do damage over a large area, and can reduce your numbers very quickly. Don't miss them!
Additonal points:
Map objectives: Some maps have slightly different game modes, twists, and objectives. For example, it may be an arena-style map where you only get one life. In other maps, you will respawn but your goal is to capture intelligence or a control point and hold it until the round ends. Still other maps let you respawn, but the rocket speed does not reset upon death.Yet other maps may have obstacles you need to avoid, such as trains, or introduce environmental hazards.

Vs. Saxton Hale:
One vs. Everyone... Can you survive?
Saxton Hale:
At the beginning of the round, one player is selected to become Saxton Hale (or if it is a special round, one of the Vagineer, Headless Horseless Horsemann, or the Christian Brutal Sniper). This player spawns with a large amount of health that scales with the number of regular players in-game. Your goal is to kill ALL of the players on the opposing team.
Rage: As the game progresses, you gain Rage. Activate it when near other players using the Taunt key. This will temporarily stun them (and any sentries), giving you a chance to do some major damage!
Brave Jump: This is a super jump to help you get to high places. To use, crouch and look up. When the Jump meter reaches 100%, stand up and you will leap high into the air. (NOTE: This is replaced with "Teleport" when playing as the HHH).
Weigh Down: Sentry knockback or players juggling you? Look down and crouch to gain some extra mass and fall back down!

Players:
Your goal is to kill Saxton Hale.
Melee: Melee weapons cause critical Hits. Use this to your advantage if you can when Saxton is distracted!
Last Player Standing: The last surviving player will receive 100% crits to aid them in their quest.

Additional Notes:
Control Point: When 3 players remain, the control point on the map will become active. If either the players or Saxton capture the point, they will win the round. Beware, as Saxton has a capture rate of 3!

Zombie Fortress:
Survive as long as you can, or kill all the survivors!
RED:
You are the survivors! Stave off the zombie attack to win the round. The zombies are undead - they will respawn shortly after being killed. If you are killed by a zombie, you become one (naturally).
BLU:
You are the undead. Kill ALL of the survivors and turn them in to zombies. You may play as scout, heavy, or spy.
Additonal points:
Last Survivor:If you are the sole remaining prop on RED, You are awarded crits. Good Luck!

Freezetag:

RED/BLU:
Your goal as a team is to have at least one member alive/unfrozen at the end of the round.
Freezing: Kill an enemy player to freeze them in place! They will be stuck and unable to move or attack for the rest of the round unless unfrozen.
Unfreezing: To unfreeze a teammate, stand next to their frozen bodies until the white ring around their feet reaches maximum size. They'll unfreeze and be ready to play again!

TF2Ware:
The WarioWare Microgaming of TF2!
RED/BLU:
Just follow the on-screen instructions to win each Minigame. You are awarded 1 point for winning a regular minigame, and 5 points for completing a Boss minigame. The winner is the player with the most points after a Boss minigame.
Watch out - As a round progresses, you'll have to react faster and faster to win a minigame!
Special Rounds: Sometimes special rounds will happen - Examples include everyone being invisible, or only certain players being required to compete in a particular mini-game.

The Hunted:
VIP Escort at its finest, for TF2!
RED:
You are the bodyguards. Protect the Hunted (engineer) at all costs! You may play all classes except Spy, Pyro and Sniper. The Engineer MUST be on the point or cart to successfully capture/move it.
BLU:
Assassins, the lot of you. Your mission is to KILL the hunted Engineer before he and his team complete the objective of the map. You may play as Pyro, Sniper, or Spy.

FortWars:
Build your fort, then defend it!
RED/BLU:
Fortwars rounds start with 3 minutes of time where each team may use their allotted prop and money quotas to construct a fort out of props. After this time is up, a central dividing wall disappears, and the neutral intelligence becomes available for pickup.
The goal is to keep the intelligence in your possession until time runs out. Note you CAN destroy any built props in your quest to regain the intelligence.
Additional classes other than scout may be purchased as you gain more money in the game. The amount of cash you have is persistent across games, so you are NOT always starting from scratch.
More cash can be earned by killing other players and/or winning a round.
use the !fwmenu command to bring up the FortWars menu with all of the commands.

Silly Maps:
A collection of silly maps that aren't based on mods.
RED/BLU:
This is a broad category, but usually these maps have some form of explanation, or are just regular game modes with a funky twist to the map. Enjoy!

Jump/Surf Maps:
Exactly as it sounds- For practicing jump and surf skills.
RED/BLU:
I suggest you have a sticky jumper and/or rocket jumper before coming here :

Vintage if you havent done so yet you need to update the gamedata on TF2Ware it was crashing our server after the mecha update.

}

That's weird, I could have sworn I'd already done that. Perhaps the ones I had weren't updated to reflect the mecha update yet.

you might want to remove that TF2Ware alpine map that map has issues unless you plan on getting your hammer on and fixing it.

What sort of issues? Can't say I've noticed any...

if you play it long enough some players get stuck in this black area and cant do anything until the next round.

sounds more like a plugin issue, might even be an undocumented type of bonus round. TF2ware has no documentation whatsoever, and the first time some of the bonus rounds come up... everyone being invisible, or you're outside the map, you go "WTF, is this broken?" :D

If it becomes a persistent issue, I'll see if I can find a cause and/or remove it from rotation. Sad though because it's a fun mod to get the server started since you can play it with any # of people.

your misunderstanding the normal TF2Ware map is fine its the TF2Ware alpine map that has problems lol.

Hm, that's disappointing as the alpine map is a little nicer to look at. Oh well, plain TF2Ware it is :)
