Just a heads up for everyone. As you know we're going to be helping out the CvC folks and hosting part of the event on our own servers. This means that we'll be temporarily switching some of them over to a passworded configuration for the duration of the event.

It's an early heads up, and I'll keep you posted as to which servers and when a little later in the week.

OK, so here's the lowdown. We are currently going to be hosting 4 servers for CvC. I've already decided on the following to be switched over:

1. Comp practice.
2. Arena/UGC
3. Payload
4. Either MVM#1 or B2B, whichever sees less activity over the coming days.

These servers will be locked and passworded for the duration of the event. We are looking at setting up SourceTV to allow people to spectate, provided we can find a relay host; we have no idea how many people will spectate, but it's not something I want to risk affecting gameplay during the matches, so no direct spectators will be allowed, only through SourceTV relays.

Why not relay via webserver? Also is it able to be streamed or viewed without being in game?

well I might be able to stream my PoV :p but it might give me a bit lag not sure  its a bit risky hmm WAIT why not get a member to spec and livestream the matches :D from our community :)

If I remember correctly, the semifinal and final matches will be streamed.

Also, Net - good idea, hadn't thought of that, we could definitely install SRCDS on the webserver and use it as a relay.

Best scenario is we get a good cameraman/director to actually direct SourceTV and stream it at the same time, perhaps.

I think that would be awesome please can we have a streamer for those at work so they can poke in and watch the fun ;)

There would probably have to be multiple streams at any point since there will be simultaneous matches, is my understanding, so it may not be practical for just one person to do until we get higher up in the tournament.

If everything runs smoothly I'll see whether I might be able to stream at least the matches in which our own team participates.
