Simcity Problems - This explains a lot...

Yea I noticed this myself but thought it was something I was doing wrong. How unfortunate.

That article hits a lot of the issues dead on.
Ultimately I feel like I'm playing SimCity Lite in every fathomable way... Personally I'm still enjoying the game, even with all of its apparent and sometimes frustrating issues. I know a lot of folks who were fed up and uninstalled. Come on EA and Maxis, srsly?
Also, F DRM.

Yea I decided to wait it out before thinking about buying this game, I'm still hoping some of the issues are addressed with patches from maxis. Love the SimCity series, I could live with the always online thing but some of the game mechanics like the bugged waypoints, 'fake' simulations of sims, and how all resources including electricity, water, waste seem to run with road just seems blatantly rushed.

I actually really like how electricity, water and waste run with the roads. It is very practical and mostly functional (only problematic with waste in my experience).

I could take it or leave it. In a way its fairly realistic in that most actual cities run cable and electrical down the side of roads, and sewers under them. It does cut down on options though, which is annoying.

I always looked at laying power wire and water pipes as a money sink and a pointless chore in SC4. I will admit that having more control over sewage could be nice since i have sometimes developed "bottle neck" issues depending on my roads, now I know better however.

One concern I have with the offline play is that it may screw with the import/export facet of the game. Honestly though, now that the servers are always on and working I do not even care about the always online facet.

I am hoping this whole debacle gets righted and everything gets better. Knowing population numbers are inflated, sims take shortest routes even if roads are jammed, firefighters from all stations go to the same fire, cops respond to the same crimes, and cars not pulling over for emergency vehicles all jammed up on a 3 lane avenue with 2 lanes wide open is irritating.
