I will add the river doesnt look difficult to cross, its just a choice between a swim check in a deep calm part, or difficult terrain in the swift shallow part.
Someone who knows what to look for may be able to have a look around for tracks to see if anyone else has been here.
Maura and Kiryu: I moved you both back to the southside of the water. Once you reach the waters edge, several rocks on the river floor begin to shift and move. A ragged sickly looking human emerges from underneath. Clearly undead with skin blotted and rotting. I have put everyone in initative order, though the thing has only shown itself. It is still 15ft deep at the bottom of the river bed. Image below is of the creature. Turn Order: Variel 22 Maura 10 Eko 9 Kiryu 7 Undead Human 5 Spoiler
Variel moves 30 ft and draws her rapier. !roll 1d20+8? #knowledge has the same modifier for arcana, nature, planes, and religion
Variel's Knowledge Religion: You know a Zombie when you see one, and this is a Zombie. You know their DR is bypassed by Slashing damage, and they dont have any special magical abilities. Maura is up
Casting acid spash on enemy. Move away from the creature(I drew a line to show were Kiryu moved to) !roll 1d20+2 #Attack vs touch !roll 1d3+2 #Acid damage
Eko: Your at the other end of the map and cannot see the Zombie, which is 15 ft below water. Eko & Kiryu: Aquatic Terrain "A completely submerged creature has total cover against opponents on land unless those opponents have freedom of movement effects. Magical effects are unaffected except for those that require attack rolls (which are treated like any other effects) and fire effects." Both of you can redo if you like
Ah, I thought it had surfaced. My bad. I'll double move up 40 feet, keeping the crossbow at the ready.
The Zombie uses it's full turn stumbling towards Variel. There is some sort of odd Nautilus on her head (see previous picture), which whips at Variel with two of its tentacles. Knowledge Dungeoneering to see if you know what the Tentacle Nautilus is. !roll 1d20+2? #Tentacle 1 vs Variel !roll 1d20+2? #Tentacle 2 vs Variel !roll 1d4+2? #Tentacle 1 dmg !roll 1d4+2? #Tentacle 2 dmg Back to Variel's turn
Tentacle 1 vs Variel: 6 = [4] + 2 Tentacle 2 vs Variel: 7 = [5] + 2 Tentacle 1 dmg: 6 = [4] + 2 Tentacle 2 dmg: 5 = [3] + 2 For: Statboy Re: #755
Dungeoneering is one of the knowledge skills that Variel does not have, so she will attack and take a 5 ft step so that Maura or Eko can more easily enter a flank. !roll 1d20 #attack !roll 1d6 damage
I'll try plinking it with my readied bolt since that was the plan originally !rolz 1d20 #attack !rolz 1d10 #damage also, knowledge dungeoneering: !rolz 1d20+5? #dungeoneering
attack: 17 damage: 10 dungeoneering: Error: unrecognized code or variable "%" For: VintagePC Re: #759
