Facebook is now the owner of Oculus VR, which means Oculus Rift is their product now. Hopefully Facebook is true to their word and lets Oculus keep working as they are, but only time will tell. For one of the many articles, check it out: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/133231-Facebook-is-Buying-Oculus-VR-for-2-Billion-Update-4 A casualty of this deal is that an official Minecraft VR release has been cancelled .
Cosmo was severely upset when he heard about this last night... So pissed off that he decided to quit our MVM team... Ya fucking kidding me?
Greed just shot VR in the fucking chest. Also "Oculus has the chance to create the most social platform ever"

And now the rumors of rebranding and a special Facebook interface have emerged: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/133241-Facebook-May-Rebrand-Oculus-Rift-Import-Interface
Selling your company to a company that thrives on selling personal information.... GG Oculus Rift before it's even released.
Heh, facebook won over directv with 77% of the vote. They're in the top 16 now and if the hordes of angry gamers EA has pissed off in the past are anything to go by... facebook has a good shot at winning this now. Next round they're going to battle it out with Comcast... we'll see whether net neutrality or privacy matters more to folks. http://consumerist.com/2014/03/26/f...-final-spot-in-worst-company-not-so-sweet-16/
This week's JimQuisition has actually changed my mind. When you think about it, Facebook would be a better alternative than most game publishing companies. It's sad to say that a game publishing company would probably destroy a thing to make our games better. EA and Ubisoft force their own DRM and make you sign in to their accounts to play your own games. If Microsoft bought it they would probably shoehorn in Xbox Live and force Bing as the search provider. Facebook would probably leave them be and let the original developers keep doing what they wanted. It's better that Facebook bought them first before EA, Activision, Sony, Microsoft, or Ubisoft did. http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/jimquisition/8965-So-That-Facebook-And-Oculus-Rift-Thing
