Not hard info to find but i figured having a brief example readily available on the forum wouldn't hurt. 1. Go to the optifine site and choose the latest HD Ultra download. You may not need all the features the ultra pack gives but it won't hurt most of the time. 2. Open ftb and click on the Edit Mod Pack button. 3. Click on the second tab JarMods and then click on Add Mod. 4. Find where you downloaded Optifine and select it. Once you do this Optifine should show up in the Enabled Mods field. You then just launch FTB as normal. If you have never used Optifine before you will notice a rather large change to the options menu and will also probably notice a huge change in playability of FTB. Currently the only conflict Optifine creates is that the large nameplates and speech bubbles from voxelplayer do not work, but it is a very small trade for the performance boost you receive.
hell, my desktop has 6gb of RAM. I'd try a 512 but that might be pushing it. I'm currently running a 128x128 LB PhotoRealistic one. Looks sweet.
Not to derail this thread all together - maybe a separate "post your favorite texture pack" thread is in order. I'm a fan of: Sphax (for when I wanna feel like I'm in a comic) and Soartex Fanvr. In FTB I'm all about Fanvr.
vintage go try 512 if you have 1.5gb of ram on your video card and 4gb of free ram you can run 512 at normal render distance (5gb of free ram needed for far with a 512 texture pack) and trust me it will look amazing
damn, it's only a 1GB card. Who wants to buy me a new card? I'll give it a try later today just for kicks.
oh you can try it with 1gb but it might be a bit slowish at times especially if you end up having a really build up world
you know what you should try? 512 texturepack with shadermod(google it ) that is if you want your graphics card to cry itself to sleep but it looks epic
but i do agree on it lagging with a 512 and a tiny bit more with shadermod but you cant say that that is not epic?
