Microsoft has a rule in place that titles for their platform must either be timed exclusives or launch for all the platforms at the same time. This holds true for their indie program [email protected] This prevents titles such as Outlast, Don't Starve, and Contrast from making it to the Xbox platform currently.

Microsoft is now moving to evaluation on a case-by-case basis for reviewing of timed exclusives on other platforms, which could mean games such as Outlast, Don't Starve, and Contrast could see a Xbox One release in the future. This is good news for both indie developers and gamers with Xbox One.
