Agreed with OneFourth, the mobile is really plain. Also it may be just me, but the desktop layout doesn't have the "topics" and "replies" labels, so it was confusing at first.
It may be easiest to go with the original forum's layout and just have a PHPBB or SMF forum.

I think that this thingy should always be visible when viewing any page. Instead of just the main forum page.

I could post something arrogant here, but I haven't tested this yet so that would be unfortunate if this didnt work
EDIT: It did not. I know a different forum that has very similar features. I think it uses Vanilla as a base too.
