[Resolved] Appeal Ban

Добрый день, дорогие товарищи! Я был сегодня забанен на вашем прекрасном сервере, за которым я уже давно наблюдаю и часто в него играю.
Так сложилось, что я из России, и администратор по ошибке посчитал мой никнейм в стиме - военным рассистким, но это не так. Он посчитал, что мой никнейм - это пропаганда войны, хотя это моё Фамилия Имя Отчество в России. Меня так зовут в реальной жизни сокращённо. В россии существует традиция, где ребёнку дают Фамилию - это фамилия мужа, имя - имя собственное ребёнка, и отчество - имя отца. и таким образом получается ФИО - Фамилия Имя Отчество. Так, как моего Отца зовут Олег (Oleg) , А фамилия у него Ваничкин (Vanichkin) , а назвали меня именим Саша ( Sasha) , то сокращённо получается СВО . Мне очень нравится этот никнейм, отчего я им пользуюсь абсолютно везде, хоть в Стиме, хоть в Близзард, Хоть в Battle.net, Хоть в других социальных сетях. В общем, мне кажется, что этот бан несправедливый. Вы можете посмотреть, как давно я играю в Team Fortress 2 Classic и я постоянно менял свои никнеймы. Даже самый первый мой заход в стим имел такой никнейм. Прошу принять и снять с меня бан, потому что я очень сильно люблю играть за пулеметчика на вашем сервере!

А еще я играл за шпиона и охотился за вражеским медиком, после того, как я почти совершил удар в спину медику, вражеский подрывник, начал громко предупреждать медика об опасности, что я за спиной, отчего я использовал легендарную фразу из Family Guy по отношению к чернокожим неграм(слово, разрешённое в россии, описывающее расовое принадлежность к этносу) где питер гриффин разозлился когда его убили в компьютерной игре. Не знаю, нужна ли эта деталь, но меня после этого замутили на 2 дня, хотя весь сервер слёг со смеху и я поднял людям настроение... Это печально! Печально, что в тим фортресс 2 так мало расистов

And I also played as a spy and hunted down the enemy medic. After I almost struck the medic in the back, the enemy demoman started loudly warning the medic about the danger of me being behind him. That's when I used the legendary phrase from Family Guy regarding African Americans, where Peter Griffin got angry when he was killed in a video game. I don't know if this detail is necessary, but after that, I was muted for 2 days, even though the whole server was laughing and I lifted people's spirits... It's sad! It's sad that there are so few racists in Team Fortress 2.

Even if I was banned for racism, people here are banned for a maximum of 2 days. Please reconsider the decision, I am willing to endure a temporary ban, but not for eternity. It's somehow unfair. I played well and completed all tasks on the map.

You were indeed banned for racism in voice chat on our servers, and according to our staff, you _only_ started using this particular username shortly after they talked about translating TF2C into Ukrainian. I'm not sure I believe your explanation either as there's no history of ever using that on our servers until a few days ago, and your list of prior user names goes back to 2020.

Unfortunately for you, our EU servers are hosted in Germany which has taken a hard-line stance against the use of pro-war symbols and propaganda to the extent that some of these have been made illegal in such a context, and is therefore potentially covered by our rules on things that are illegal in the regions where our servers are located.

No they weren't, a video was submitted along with the ban report. And even if they were, we don't tolerate the use of slurs or derogatory terms on our servers. This is clearly outlined in server rule #3.

Ummm... what? That really doesn't help your case, and actively harms it.

... There are plenty of bans we have issued longer than two days in duration. This is outlined in our server rules, and racism is something that may be escalated if the staff member believes the situation warrants it, especially if it occurs together with other problematic behaviour.

Given the information available to me, I am not inclined to overturn your ban at this time. Per our standard policies it will be eligible for appeal and re-consideration one year from the date which it was issued, namely Feb. 9, 2025.
