• Please DO NOT post in a ban contest thread unless you are:
    1. The person banned or posting a ban request.
    2. Senior Staff.
This is necessary to keep threads on-topic and uncluttered. Thank you.

If you don't know why you were banned, you probably broke one of our server rules. Most bans are temporary except in the case of gross violations or repeated infractions.

[Resolved] Ban Appeal, Brown Hat Rule

In-Game name: ɮāɖᵛᵛσʅʄ † ("Badwolf"), "GOD HATES FRAGS"
Time of Ban: 15:59 (According to the forum)
Date of Ban: 25/03/24
Steam ID: STEAM_0:1:116906174
Reason for Ban: "Brown Hat Rule"
Additional Comments:

I was playing on one of the NA servers when another player instigated me and I reacted poorly. I sort of went on griefer autopilot and began pushing buttons in an attempt to garner a reaction. It wasn't a mature way to handle the situation and I shouldn't have done it. However, the individual in question was asking me very inappropriate questions concerning sexual topics that I'm uncomfortable speaking about, and kept insinuating that I wasn't female when I repeatedly told them I was.

I'd like to apologise for my actions but also establish that my boundaries were broken and my reaction was not unprovoked.

Your appeal has been received, we'll review the details and get back to you shortly, usually in 2-3 days.

On review we will be declining your ban appeal at this time.

This goes beyond just the incident you are describing and was also issued for repeated violations of our rules in your chat history and in voice chat, specifically the use of slurs and derogatory terms. Please refer to Server Rule #3.

Since your ban was not issued in error and is in line with our policies, the soonest at which we will consider your ban appeal is one year from the date it was issued, namely on 03-25-25.

I will also direct your attention to our most recent addendum which clarifies our previously implicit stance on rule 3 and the duration of punishments thereunder:

Adding this here, in writing for future reference:

VaultF4 strives to be a safe space for the LGBT community and other marginalized groups.

Anyone caught harassing another player on our servers on basis of race, sex, disability, gender, gender identity, or sexuality will be permanently banned. Appeals for this kind of ban will be handled on a case-by-case basis.

This has been an informal policy of mine for a while but I feel like it's worth adding to the end of the rules here for all to see.
